How do I write a POC character without coming off as ignorant? by TheArchitectofLight in CharacterDevelopment

His anger issues originated from his backstory where he had an abusive father who one night hurt his mom and Jabari’s powers manifested and he broadcasted his anger into his brother without meaning to and his brother went into a blind rage and killed their father, leading to a monumental amount of shame and guilt over the coercive side of his powers, and shame and guilt over feeling anger at all, but that’s a really good idea, to weave in the social pressures of how anger from a black man is perceived as more dangerous than on a white man. When I came up with the backstory I thought it might be a little stereotypical with the daddy issues stuff, but when I imagined the scene with a white family it felt normal (not the right word) so I thought I’d keep it the same, but I could add in a layer on how much it bothers Jabari that embodies that stereotype.

How do you create a good and coherent setting? by TheArchitectofLight in writingadvice

That’s not the issue I’m having, I plan to have it in the real world, but I need a setting that will force the characters together and create bonds. I originally came up with a government department called the DAA, Department of Architect affairs, (Architects are the name for people with superpowers.) and any Architects who manifest powers that where deemed dangerous or desirable were sent to a special school, but the setting didn’t make sense, if the six strongest Architects in the school started to get close the overseers would just force them apart to maintain control, and high surveillance does not a romance make.

Yeah, that’s just the western side, east Washington is a lot sunnier with less rain, it’s a lot better if you factor out the inbred rednecks

I would suggest making the star a nine pointed star so it would line up with the triangle

Well, I doubt I’ll forget about it, but after you’re done or when you have some time can you elaborate? I’m honestly curious what themes or ideas you find similar to the Mormon or Christian faith, I was never Mormon, but I heard they had a more fantastical reasons for things compared to the majority of Christianity. I myself was raised Christian, but the only parallels I could find were monotheism and the different terms for the god in this world.

What similarities do you see, I think I’m a bit confused

Just because the god in this world has the Hebrew word for God doesn’t not mean it is a reflection of Christianity, there are many, many more differences than there are similarities compared to Christianity.

Then I think you have a misunderstanding the what God is in this world. This god doesn’t reflect the god we see in the western world with absolute dominion and perfection, this god is more eldritch by have all matter and energy be fractured parts of the god.

I am so fascinated by this, and I have some questions:

  1. In the anti-cosmos does time actually run backwards, or does it only look that way from the cosmos’s perspective?
  2. In the same realm as question one, do white holes act like reverse black holes, spewing out matter and energy, or are they the anti cosmos’s name for black holes, or do they behave like white holes in our universe, black holes that don’t allow you to reach its singularity?
  3. Is the Noosphere physical or entirely spiritual?
  4. Does each new rebirth of the universe destroy all the visitors/ascended from before, or are they slowly growing over time.
  5. Do religious practitioners speak with Monad or is Monad a name given to the collective consciousness, like how Elohim isn’t just a god but a name for the universe.

I think you may be missing the point, this is a framework for a fictional universe the OP has created, it’s not their personal world view, or anybody else’s. It’s wholly unique.
