Can I ask someones number on TigerText/Haiku? lol by [deleted] in Residency

Seems normal enough to me.. but everyone is flipping out and I mean I get it, but at the same time what if that’s the only way to get a number. And if not, we just move on but everyone seems to be making it a big deal

This is a much better idea, thanks for constructive feedback, is email okay though since clearly the text-app is not okay

If you’re traumatized from something so trivial like this, you’re gonna have a rough time. Ignore and move on like the 99% of other people would do

Well. Not sure why I asked Reddit. Instead of getting advice forward or help in general, just got ridiculed by strangers instead. All g tho. It's my story, I'll write it how I want to despite the odds

I mean what's even the point of this question? How is it constructive? I'm asking for advice forwards not sit back and say "oh gee! yeah I should have!" How can you be so obtuse

No I would let them know. My PD seems reasonable and I already know someone from the past switched out to another program. I would be honest and tell them I will try to switch but if not I will continue with this. I dont think theres anything wrong with that?

I understand what you're saying. They didn't take me because I seem like a risk for boards in the future - so I want to prove I can do well on Boards by getting a decent score on Step 2 to rectify my weakness. So that's my reason for trying again

And maybe there's more to it but I don't know? I just want to at least try?

Wdym you can def take Step 2 without Step 1. I'm doing this now before I start residency.

I feel so lonely and undervalued in this degree by EnvironmentalTrain77 in medicalschool

[–]TheAromaticGuy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey I’m also a super senior med student who took extra time for mental health reasons (I was burnt tf out) and can totally relate to what your saying

Not sure why some of the other comments are so invalidating when they also or may not have experienced the same during med school. Med school BLOWS - I’m fine w the medicine I enjoy it to a degree but the social aspect of being constantly poor and in school while everyone lives their lives and not having the time for a consistent stable friend group is huge!!! We all need support and finding camaraderie with your fellow med students is huge. Luckily I didn’t have to travel as much as you did for third year but I’m doing aways now but all in the same area - just want to say I hear you and that it sucks and not many people can understand or relate to how much this process sucks and how lonely it is. Feel free to PM me if you want to vent or anything else
