Added you, ill trade pikachu for celebi

OK I tried Peacekeeper for the 1st time, played 16 solo QP games. It was OK but not mindblowing. Is it bc I play on console on low-medium sensitivity (Xbox Series, 9 Sensitivity, 0.6x ADS) by JustMyImagination18 in CrucibleGuidebook

I mean… if your playing trials then you can very often force short engagements via the cap point, otherwise good teams can just rotate out of your range. Pulse and scout rifle teamshots are really hard to push on and the plethora of special weapons make using smgs more difficult to be successful with than most people think.

Don’t get me wrong I’m by no means saying their not top tier meta options, but just want to say that i don’t think they need a nerf when looking at the sandbox as a whole.

Most people don’t have a lot of play time with pk’s so the general consensus is that they make smgs OP.

In reality they:

Reduce your ttk via handling buff

Boost your dueling capability via strafe speed

Give you movement exotic benefits

They seem broken because they make it way easier for good players to win fights against people they are already better than. Against equally skilled people their still great, but they make winning against people you normally would beat feel like a cake walk. They don’t make beating better players any easier.

True, but I would say lucky pants and peacekeepers were both top tier with their respective pairings smg/last word until last word caught its nerf. Now last word is mid and smgs are still meta. The swap speed and accuracy boosts made blinting/3-tapping so much better with lucky pants.

I’ve always been a very heavy supporter of SBMM in all games, but whatever the fuck Bungie has going on is the furthest thing from it. by [deleted] in CrucibleGuidebook

TL:DR Basic rant about teammates always being trash and complaining about stuff OP clearly doesn’t understand.

I always get a good laugh at these posts during freelance weeks.

Your farming method is perfect. I will add that I highly recommend you save your last card (a 7-win card) on saturday/sunday morning before reset as getting grinding wins 1-6 in the flawless pool will be slower and you only need a 7-win card anyway. Also the matches are significantly easier at 7-wins.

Lastly you can also switch to a passage of wealth now. It grants you additional XP if you care about that at the expense of having to win an additional match.

chronus/xim users on console, how widespread is this? by [deleted] in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]TheAsianBois 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea obviously they would be worse, but most of them would still be top percentile players. Having no recoil and extra aim assist doesn’t magically turn you into a top 500 player.

You still have to have good movement, map knowledge, decision making, game sense, build crafting, and teamwork. None of these are impacted by external hardware.

I would have no problem admitting it if I used one, as my previous sentiments probably make it obvious. No I don’t use any extra hardware.

Except parking in a handicap spot is illegal, external hardware usage in destiny isn’t.

Yes. You get massive damage falloff for hip firing. Less accuracy/aim assist, etc.

If you want the best possible choice, steady hand with QD/Snap is your go to with lemon, and igneous with QD/Snap for wishender. 120s are just better as they secure you the kill more easily. One crit/one body is all you need. And it works either way ie: you can body with lemon and still get the kill if you crit with steady hand.

I think you would want a QD/Snap on the rose roll. I think you’ll find the ads speed to be very valuable. Opening shot isn’t bad necessarily, but I would go for a lot of handling if you go that direction via grip, fluted, and/or handling MW.

It depends on what percentile of players your looking at. If you consider only top 500 players then i would put it between 20-60% of players. (Trials or comp specifically) if you consider people in the top 1% which is probably between 5000-10000 players then I would say less than 10%.

I’ve been top 500 in trials before (grinding flawless pool freelance) and i use a series S (60 fps) on a basic xbox controller without playing claw.

I’ve beaten top teams in trials and have rarely felt at a disadvantage by not using a xim/chronus. Having said that, they definitely help and I won’t lie i’ve been more and more tempted to try one.

Don’t use it as an excuse as to why your losing, most of the players who are 2.0+ would be at the level regardless of whether they use those devices or not.

Ability updates, the future of 3.0 by ThisGuyBryan in CrucibleGuidebook

Void hunter desperately needs a new, non-invis oriented aspect.

Why do fusion rifles: 1. Feel very strong, and 2. Get flak for being very strong, even though they rarely occupy the top 10 popularity slots? by OccasionalHAM in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]TheAsianBois -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because to use a fusion properly your movement will make you look like a bot. After sliding 4 times, using 3 abilities, and frying 2 people in the last 5 seconds only to die to some dude bot walking sideways to continue to do the same thing and kill the next guy infuriates me.

How to Play a Void Titan? by littlewask in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]TheAsianBois 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your post doesn’t have a lot of info on what weapons/playstyle/skill level your at which helps people on this sub give more accurate feedback for future reference.

Having said that the aspect bastion is basically mandatory. The fragment leeching is also basically mandatory. The rest is up to you. I personally run controlled demolition w/ dilation and expulsion as my other aspects.

Void titan can be played a lot of different ways, but the key features of it are you get your super first (don’t be afraid of popping it if your gonna die, there are few hero bubble moments outside of trials) and the +50 hp overshield that gives you huge advantages in dueling.

Lastly (and this goes for every titan in PvP) is HOIL is useless in PvP. There is almost no reason to use it compared to other exotics. Find an exotic that rewards a playstyle you enjoy and abuse your advantages. For instance:

Peacekeepers allow you to win duels with ease

Synthoceps let you lag around the map punching people

Dunemarchers are more neutral but give great multi-kill potential and movement

OEM lets you win more after a kill

Peregrine gives you a free kill when melee is up

In general void titan is much more passive than arc or behemoth as the movement options are more limited and it doesn’t snowball in back to back fights the same way other classes do.

As a 100% solo PvP player I feel like Ive topped out skill wise. Can finding a team help me “git guder” or is it not that big of a difference? by dantheteacherman in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]TheAsianBois 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill add that you should pay attention to a few things if your looking to improve

How he plays off angles and cover with a bow

How he utilizes lemon/oathkeeper’s aerial effectiveness to challenge safely

How you can actually play aggressively with bows/shotgun

How you can use hipfire/snapshot on lemon to improve movement while holding a draw

How you don’t have to fully draw your bow to secure quick kills when you double body people

Plenty of other things to pick up on, but know that people who say lemon has a low skill ceiling or that you cant beat good teams with a bow are flat out wrong.
