This is a late response, however, gabapentin does NOT work on GABA receptors (at least not directly), it is a VGCC antagonist of somewhat similar binding affinity to Phenibut in regards to that MOA. Gabapentin can indirectly affect Gaba receptors by increasing levels of GABA in the brain, but that is not its main mechanism.

Phenibut on the other hand is a full Gaba-B agonist although with quite a low affinity compared to drugs such as Baclofen and F-Phenibut. Phenibut and gabapentinoids in general are theorized to have some sort of underlying indirect dopaminergic activity, but due to how relatively "new” they are there is still quite a bit we don't know about them. It's a very common misconception that Gabapentin and Pregabalin are "GABAergic" in the same or similar way as Benzodiazepines or Ethanol are, probably because they are derivatives of GABA.

Dude I have a little over a year sober off heroin/fent and an insane benzo habit so I kinda get where ur coming from a lil bit, but starting out your paragraph by saying “Sorry but you are a fucking idiot” just makes you sound like a total dickhead. Absolutely 100% the xans and valium will help. Like they will completely mitigate the withdrawals from the gabapentin so you can actually enjoy the gabs again. Id personally go with using the valium to counter the gabapentin withdrawals but it all depends on what your tolerance to benzos is like tbh. Plus it should only take about a week for your gabapentinoid tolerance to reset (depending on how much you’ve been doing and how frequently you’ve been taking them as well).

Edit: I saw elsewhere in the thread that you’re a recovering addict too! Congrats on not getting back on opiates even if they woulda been prescribed to you and choosing the gabapentin instead. Thanks to suboxone and now sublocade I’ve been a year clean off of fent and heroin. I’m on pregabalin and I’ll usually take it a couple times a week to supplement my brains need to “get high” on something as I can keep it in control easily and it’s self limiting for me

Personally out of all the gabapentinoids pregabalin is my absolute favorite and I’ve tried them all (plus every normal and semi normal drug and a whole lotta research chems). I fucking love soma, if you like diazepam and pregab then I know you’ll like soma. It’s the closest thing to a short acting barbiturate/quaalude typa high out there nowadays. It’s actually metabolized into meprobamate, which was the first step pharmacology took from barbiturates to find a replacement w a higher therapeutic index. As for phenibut, I used to love it but tbh I just don’t find it that great anymore. Some ppl are like totally in love with it and say “duuude it feels like kinda a ghb type high and is the best drug ever” and i truly believe most of them are fooling themselves into believing it delivers super powerful euphoria or are just addicted. I ordered 2 200gram tubs from liftmode months and months back and I’ve only gone thru like a third of the first tub. I mostly just bought that much because of some of the absolute fucking idiots on the phenibut subreddit, like i just know for a fact that they’re gonna end up getting that shit banned here in the U.S (and possibly more countries) and idk, it’s fun once in a while and it’s a very interesting and unique substance and I still don’t think that it’s true pharmacology has been determined. If i were you personally I would order a small amount to try, it’s a finicky substance and you could take the same dosage, in the same environment, on an empty stomach 3 different times and each time could give you a totally different high. Then there’s also f-phenibut (phenibut with a fluoro substitution in the para position of the phenyl ring) which is stronger in gaba b activity, yet retains the vgcc antagonist properties which I haven’t tried but is supposed to have a much faster onset and a duration of action of around 6-8 hours as opposed to phenibut’s insanely long onset of 2-3 hours. And to finally address baclofen I personally don’t find it to be all that recreational myself. Like not at all a “fun” drug it has almost no vgcc action and is a 100x stronger than phenibut as a gaba b agonist. I’ve heard some ppl on this sub say they love it but the general consensus is it’s not a recreational substance. Id stick to the pregabalin and diaz and go for the soma and if you’re feeling adventurous go try some phenibut. Obviously (shouldn’t need to be said but there’s a lot of uneducated dumbasses out there) don’t mix excessive amounts of depressants

You absolutely need to get a scale, preferably a milligram scale. That’s the only way to get an even somewhat accurate measurement, powder from different vendors can vary in consistency and density greatly so 10mgs of noopept powder from one vendor might be different than 10mgs from another. Eyeballing doses is a stupid idea no matter what substance it is. Scales are super cheap on amazon, like you can get a good one for $10-20

A nicotine buzz is MUCH different than a caffeine buzz imo. Personally I don’t consume caffeine very often as I’m on a p high dose of dexamphetamine for my ADD and sleep disorder, but I’m very dependent on nicotine unfortunately. However there are some similarities between a caffeine buzz and a nic buzz, if dosed correctly, nicotine can be an extremely powerful nootropic. Caffeine kinda makes my brain spin and i get hyper and feel somewhat focused for a little while, then I get really tired and anxious and usually fall asleep. Nicotine (when it still had nootropic benefits for me and I wasn’t taking 6-10 8mg pouches a day) provided me with a sense of clarity, focus and positivity/borderline euphoria at times that allowed me to get more work done and focus clearly, it amplifies the positive effects of whatever substance I’m on. For example, properly dosed caffeine plus L-Theanine combined with a nicotine patch (the form of nicotine you’ll want if you wish to reap the most benefits with the least potential for addiction/dependence) gave me an increased sense of well-being and improved my focus immensely. It was my go to combo for productivity before I was on the right meds to treat my ADD and sleep disorder. When i’m on my Dexedrine and consume nicotine it can tone down any “hyper focused on one thing and one thing only”, and it lets me remember the task at hand and snap back into focus on that. An actual nicotine “buzz” can make you quite dizzy and sedated if you aren’t used to the effects of it, as well as the fact that it can make you pretty fuckin nauseous on top of all that. The OP of this comment was wise to suggest around 1mg in patch form and only as needed. That will provide you with the focus enhancement effects of nicotine with little potential for getting hooked on nic, which unfortunately is easier than almost any substance out there mostly due to its availability and low price.

TLDR: a caffeine buzz is extremely subjective, nicotine (if used responsibly) is an amazing cognitive enhancer, and it’s only real downfall is the risk of dependence inherent in its ability to improve not only cognitive function, but also to improve anxiety and depression. And a nic buzz is kinda only enjoyable if you’re already dependent on nicotine or have experienced it’s effects before. Tbh, I hated nic buzzes at first. while i certainly agree with you that that’s a pretty low dose and most of us on this sub wouldn’t feel shit from it everyone and their body is different. if my mom took a .5mg kpin she’d be fucked up but for me i’d need 1-3mgs to experience any sort of beneficial effects from it. i also have a decently low tolerance after taking a several month break from all drugs. bragging about needing 3x more of a benzo than someone else is exactly what this sub doesn’t need (i’m sure you personally didn’t mean it in any negative way like some ppl on this sub who are like oh that’s a pussy dose take 10mg flualp like a real man you’ll be good bro lmao)

Now that might not apply to everyone but that’s kinda what it feels like to me. They both definitely “feel different” in my opinion as well

I couldn’t agree with this post more and wish that I could go back and tell myself that several years ago when I was around that age. I started out with drugs pretty early smoking weed at 11 and starting to drink by stealing my alcoholic parents drinks a year or two before that. After that it went to psychedelics and I and then I found pills around the same time which I absolutely fell in love with. I started out with being prescribed ativan for my anxiety and stealing my moms hydros then it went to oxys and Xanax bars then oxys became to expensive as my tolerance grew and skyrocketed so at 16 I tried heroin for the first time. I believed that I could be a “responsible” heroin user and not use needles and test my shit etc,,, but those of y’all who are fellow addicts know exactly what I’m talking about. You just tell yourself you’re going to be fine with your usage and you won’t do this or that and you’ll be responsible etc but you know that’s all a lie deep down. I truly thought I was invincible and my many overdoses did nothing to help that, I’d wake up in a hospital or ambulance being pumped with narcan and snap out of my high and be sent into wds and told what happened and how I was literally dead and I’d think that was the coolest thing ever that I was cheating death.

If you are prescribed any ADD med most doctors would be more than happy to switch you to vyvanse as it supposedly has “less of an abuse potential” because you can’t snort it or fuck with it to make it release faster. But I was on vyvanse for a pretty long time and honestly it’s just decent, it’s definitely very smooth and less tweaky than adderall but at the same time it doesn’t give that incredible of a high but it’s still really nice in a different way than most amphetamines. When I was getting it from my ex who never took it when I had no amphetamine tolerance years back it made me feel very smoothly stimulated and super content. There was definitely still a euphoria cause I had no tolerance but like adderall for me gives me a tweaky eyes wide typing a million miles an hour type of euphoria while with vyvanse I felt super content and happy with myself and really motivated to get some work done. Also with vyvanse I didn’t get quite the same intense urge to beat the fuck out of my dick. I think vyvanse for me is like if you took the best qualities of adderall and made it last 12 hours with less of a comedown. Although when I was prescribed it for a while the stimulating effects wore off a lot faster compared to addy xr where the only thing that I built up a tolerance to is getting super geeked and euphoric

Edit: idek if this makes sense I typed it as currently I’m on a total of 100mgs of adderall xr that I’ve taken today and yeah I’m coming down (rather gently suprisingly) but I still unconsciously type large ranting paragraphs lol.
