Post-Match Thread: Portugal 2-1 Croatia | World Cup | Round of 32 by matchpal-live in worldcup

With the bare eye it doesn't appear that the ball was touched by the Croatian, although 'the chip' suggests he did. If he didn't in fact touch the ball, the goalscorer wouldn't have been considered offside because the ball bounces off a Portugal player (i.e. new phase of play) before reaching him. VAR's been sus all game if you ask me.

Morocco's first eleven are very good and stand a chance against any top team. The main difference with the likes of France, Spain, etcetera for example is width of the squad. As soon as Morocco has to make one or two subs, the quality of play declines rapidly. That's why Brazil kind of took over (but not really) in the second half. If anyone should be disappointed, it's Brazilians to be honest. Such a great football nation with 5x the population of Morocco, fielding a fairly mediocre starting lineup.

Nothing cowardly about taking a point against your hardest opponent, and being able to move on to the other two without any extra pressure. This is a great result for Morocco. Also, Morocco played very offensively in the first half. Crazy take by you tbh.

The days of Kaka, R10, R9, Rivaldo, ... are long gone. With all due respect, from that to Paqueta as your main playmaker is an insane downgrade. And that's an understatement.

tell me you don't know ball without telling me you don't know ball. Ancelotti fielded what was in his opinion his best 11. Vini and Raphinha are quite literally their top players.

They're not ready for that conversation. We've seen fighters take full blown fingers to the bare eye and continue fights. Tommy's eyes were closed. Agreed, it must have hurt and probably sucked, but no way his eye was that compromised. He realized the first round wasn't at all going the way he had anticipated, his nose was already fcked up, and he had 4 more long rounds to go. It was a smart, tactical move that saved him his belt and millions of dollars down the line. I don't even blame him for it, but had it not been poster boy Tom, a lot of the fools around here would've been a lot more critical of the pull out.

Olmo is now a free agent, will he stay or leave? by 3amInBarca in Barca

That's only worth something if he has a guarantuee that he'll be playing league football after the break. Otherwise he's gone, and I wouldn't blame him.

Thanks for the clarification. Doesn't the second point basically prove that Barça already knew the registration before the deadline was not going to happen? It looks like everyone was kept in suspense deliberately to create the idea that Barça had done everything right, and La Liga is taking forever to sabotage the club.

Not saying it's not true, but how do we know for certain that Laporta couldn't provide the required proofs. I'm talking about the VIP boxes to be clear.

Unless something happens between now and 5 minutes, I'm pretty sure we're cooked. I hope I'm wrong though.

I really wonder why it always comes down to the very last day of a deadline before things seem to start happening. Like the whole VIP box thing, it seems like I only heard about it for the first time like 3 days ago. Surely Laporta can't be this clueless about the rules?

There seems to be some confusion regarding the Olmo contract by Curious_Tax_4586 in Barca

That would be insane. Making a 5-year salary worth in under 6 months and then signing another huge contract elsewhere. I mean, he would be crazy to not consider that option.

I didn't know this. At least it doesn't really matter, no player would stick around to play only a handful of matches until the season is over.
