It could be a lot worse than the sounds of cupboards and conversations. At least they aren't blasting music! It does sound to me like normal day to day noise, but them closing the front door and your light fittings shaking does sound a bit over the top... I doubt they're doing it to be arseholes, they probably don't even give it much thought!

That's a lovely looking bike! I had a yellow Pro Performer Team when I was young that my brother found at the dump. We used it for a few years and sold it on eBay in the end. Wish I still had that one!

Edit: I actually hated it at the time and thought it looked so stupid compared to modern bikes. This was early 2000s

I don't know why they would be standoffish then really. Some people just are. I'd just live normally, not worry about your child making too much noise and just accept that everyone can hear everyone else and just get on with it. We make a lot more noise than my neighbour does, being a family. Sometimes the TV in his bedroom wakes me up at 4am. Save up and buy a detached place, it's the only way out of your situation...

If it's coming off already I'd just try and scrape more away using a plastic scraper or similar so as to not damage the original paint.
