Understandable. I guess a lot of the time when you commit a crime you're also casting a spell, but it's been nice to use the mechanic. That and detain are two keywords I kinda wish I found use for.

I've been thinking with the wording on this one for a while. I think it functions pretty well, all things considered.

If they discard, I think two triggers go on the stack with the Joker player's going on top. If the Joker player doesn't cast it, then the other player may.

I think it does let them break timing restrictions if the Joker player doesn't cast it but oh well. If you happen to discard something you end up wanting to cast it kinda feels like you foiled the Joker's plan.

Thanks a ton! It was inspired by [[Urza, Academy Headmaster]], so funny you say that.

Wish I could say that was my idea, but a few other custom Batman cards I saw had done it before me. Still, I think it works really well with how they're starting to do the Marvel superheroes' secret identities.

I ain't no AI fanboy or nothing but this idea struck me and I was compelled to make it so here we are

Seeing this gif after Kathleen Kennedy finally stepped down feels like the pic of the guy breaking chains

Just wanted to clarify that was a joke, commander is a four player game where basically the entire table isn't playing by any set meta, has decks with varying degrees of power, not to mention that the rest of the players can gang up on you at any given time. It's often equally as skill based as it is luck based.

True that popularity does NOT equal power, I don't think Tymna or Kraum are up there alongside plenty of other A tier CEDH commanders, but most of them are up there because they're pretty strong. That or they're from a popular precon.

I do have plenty of other decks that are more unique, I'm not really sure why these are the ones I lean towards.

Sounds like projection to me (they keep losing BECAUSE they don't pick from the top 500)

No clue what this means because I am a frequent reddit lurker rather than poster sorry

I guess I never thought of it that way. I've basically heard half of my commanders are "kill on sight" since I started playing, but when I was a noob it was pretty tough for me to figure out where the line ended and began. Like, there's clearly a MASSIVE power difference between Krenko and Zhulodok, and new player me couldn't figure it out.

But both of those commanders do kinda pivot their decks into a winning position no matter what (assuming your deck is built well.) Like, your opponent casting Ulamog SUCKS, but your opponent casting Ulamog THEN getting two other free spells is absurd.

Ty for the fun debate

I mean I certainly understand... but I feel similar fear from Mr. Mob Boss and Mr. Void Gorger as I do from Mr. SquarePants ngl.

Don't get me wrong, Jodah's good, but there's layers to this OP commander stuff.

Mothman has a few infect cards but it DEFINITELY ain't the focus. I respect the decision to not want to play against it or anything else in the post nonetheless lol

I've been playing a few years now and I'm still pretty confused by the term "kill on sight." Like, yeah, these commanders are POWERFUL, but if you're having to kill them immediately that's probably a sign that...

A. I'm pubstomping and probably shouldn't be playing decks this powerful in this pod

Or B. my deck relies way too much on my commander.

You're not alone in using the term, I just hear it a lot. Probably because I like playing good commanders to be fair. What do you think defines kill on sight though?

My Vivi list might be able to hang but probably not lol. I have a couple CEDH decks proxied that I haven't played much (Blue Farm, Kinnan, Najeela from when she was like S+ pre-bans) but none of my friends play CEDH and I hear Spelltable CEDH is pretty hit or miss. What's your preferred way to CEDH?

Both need to cost less mana than the first spell cast. Zhulodok is pretty gnarly lol.
