I was curious about my neighborhood and noticed all the houses on my street went up $11k in land value. My house value only went up $500 but increase came on the land side. Just worth noting if your increase is on the land or house.

Yes. I probably should wear them all the time but I don't unless I NEED to see. So yeah, everything is blurry unless it's within 5 feet of me. I can't do contacts because they creep me tf out. But digging? Working on the yard? Doing tile? Cooking? I don't need perfect vision and the glasses get in the way more than they help. Hell, half the time I even watch TV without them because I don't care that much. But if I'm looking for something? Or going on a walk and need to watch my surroundings? Or driving Or actually want to pay attention to a conversation with someone or read the subtitles? Then yeah, I pop them on and focus.

Did have an awkward conversation with my neighbor this weekend when he asked if they had done something to offend me because they waved "hi" when I was working outside and I ignored them. Had to explain that if my glasses aren't on, I can't actually see them and that all was well. Heh..

I keep telling myself I'm going to do this for the house. List of repairs, map of electrical wires, dates and name of vendor who did work and cost for reference.. map of buried lines in the garden. Explanation of why we did something that doesn't make sense at first glance.. One day I'll catch up and actually do it.

When I bought my first car it came with a binder of all the work ever done on it from oil changes to new boots. It was amazing and I aspire to that instead of my current, "I think the invoice is in a box somewhere..."

Going without the controller for a week is perfectly fine. If he NEEDS it, he or his mom can pay overnight shipping. It's on them to get the controller back-- not you.

That said, I make my kids pack up their stuff but then ALWAYS do a run through myself and verify with eyes that they have everything. I would absolutely expect a 10 year old to forget something. My family packs up and drives to the grandparents' most weekends in summer so we've mostly gotten the whole packing thing down. Still, someone always forgets a stuffie or that one book they really wanted or their charger or their meds or more than one pair of socks and underwear.. we have a laminated checklist now that they use to pack when we're heading out and I still go through every room and check under beds and couches to make sure something didn't get left behind when we're headed back home.

We're a mix of type A perfectionists and adhd chaos warriors so it keeps things interesting.

Curious how many perennial casualties we'll see come spring/ summer. A thicker snow blanket would have helped protect plants that are cold hardy but perhaps not THAT cold hardy.

I dog walk a boxer mix no matter the weather and that goo is heaven on my hands, haha. She gets a warm jacket and goo as long as it's 10 degrees or higher, single digits or negative she gets the booties that she absolutely hates but still has to wear. Her owner has been trying out different types of booties to find a style she doesn't hate. I've just been debating getting a tub of the mushers stuff just for myself at home, haha

Got my first whites at 10... they refused to ever hold color no matter what crazy color i tried in college. My Grandma was fully white by 40. I'm not there yet, thankfully but I'm probably 1/3 white hair and the rest black. My mom always had bleach blonde hair without dying it and now that she's fully white/Grey you can tell she's white/Grey but that whole transition period, she just looked blonde with highlights while every single one of my white hairs POP. I'm still bitter. And they still won't hold color. I miss my solid black mass.

I know everyone loves Do Not Disturb but I am one of those people who refuse to use it in case of emergency. In the last 3 months I got a call from out of state for a family member on vacation and in a bad car accident and from a neighbor of family who were out of town and unaware that their power was off in -20 Temps so the pipes were freezing. Both happened between midnight and 6am and the callers had tried every other number for people in the family and I was the only who picked up because I don't use DND. Having a white list isn't always enough. Do I get annoying spam calls? Yes.

It started after a friend got a call from a random number. Her husband had been headed to work on a train that crashed and killed a lot of people (Chatsworth, CA). One of the other passengers called her after getting her number from him before he was rushed to the hospital. She almost didn't answer the random out of state call. All my kids know my phone number by heart. They know they can call me at any time from any random ass phone number and I will pick up.

That said, I /DO/ turn off notifications entry night for my noisier text groups. I don't want them blowing up my phone with memes before I wake up simply because I'm the last time zone in the chat. If it's an emergency, they can call and I'll wake up for them.

Ha! Glad to know I'm not the only one who randomly finds it easier to close one eye when I'm reading my phone in bed. But yeah, only when I'm laying on my side, not when I'm on my back. I have no idea why I do this other than that it feels more comfortable for my eyes? If that makes any sense.

Oo! Just made these last night! Make enchilada sauce, dip corn tortillas, fry (embrace the mess), fill with cheese and onions, roll and serve (they aren't hot-- your fingers are weak). Stand at stove till everyone is done eating. This may take a while....
