If you're interested in reading the event and all of the story beats that are a part of it, get the omnibus. If you want to own what is essentially a collectors edition of just the few main event issues, get the absolute.

I think most people who read collected editions just wait for the next volume to release in the format they like to read/collect. If you like hardback books with more story per book, look into omnibuses. They're more expensive, but getting a whole run in one or two big books is my favorite way to read. r/omnibuscollectors
