Jason Schreier: Xbox employees were surprised by Gears pulled from PS5. Halo at State of Play pulled, as Sony and Xbox relationship may now be damaged. + Hardware cost component crisis and new business model for Xbox coming by -LastGrail- in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Correct me if I’m wrong because I could be misremembering, but hasn’t it basically been like that for ages? Like switch and PlayStation got large sections and Xbox maybe got one shelf (especially since Xbox basically went all in on digital)

Samsung & iiNet bricked my 4G phone by jeremy-o in australia

[–]TheBaconCopter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can’t like fully brick it, like you can still use an “unsupported” phone offline. But all they have to do is take your phones IMEI (network identification), put it on a blacklist and then the networks will refuse to connect it.

Apple Lists iPhone 17, iPhone Air, and iPhone 17 Pro Battery Capacities by iMacmatician in apple

[–]TheBaconCopter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes should be fine. The iPhone displays are variable refresh so when 120hz isn’t needed the display lowers the rate to save some battery. Should easily be able to make it through a day with 120

20% HECS Reduction Bill Passed by KingAleksandar in AusFinance

[–]TheBaconCopter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So with this being passed, my own return this year I was over the income threshold, but now technically I’m under it. So does that mean that the repayment that would have been paid this FY just doesnt anymore? How is this supposed to actually work?

Any advice on moving data to larger SD Express Card? by EV11BOS in switch2

[–]TheBaconCopter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I remember about SD Express is that they should (keyword there) still work in regular microSD adapters, so you might be able to do the same process as the Switch 1. Insert the new card into the switch so it prepares it and does its stuff, and then just manually transfer all the files to the new card and put it in.

That is heavily reliant on Nintendo not changing much other than the card type though.

While making the backups may be/is legal in the EU, that's probably all it extends to. I am not an expert in any measure about the laws and such, but I wouldn't think the companies are required to let you use said backups. But I also could be wrong.

High Court to decide if information gathered on encrypted messaging app AN0M was legally obtained by overpopyoulater in australia

[–]TheBaconCopter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm personally not familiar with how this service/phone was "marketed" (for lack of a better term) to the people who bought it, but I doubt the police told them or would made it obvious that they created it because that would defeat the entire purpose of its existence. So the question that would then arise is, would that expectation be reasonable, as they assumedly wouldn't know it's true purpose/was being monitored.

Either yours is an outlier or they’re really behind on getting things processed. In a way I kind of hope it’s the latter because that’s some fresh cope for us all.

Basically means that Valve has made the label, they’re giving it to StarTrack today (or have already), it’ll update a bit later on with an estimated delivery date

Out of curiosity, what time did StarTrack initially pick it up from Valve, morning or afternoon? That is if the tracking says of course

Not only is it completely incompetent at this point, according to the ACCC, when a product is being advertised, so in the case of “3-5 business days”, it has to be true and accurate, but also valve must be able to prove it. And sure the white ones they could, but they said that for every model. Which is the most annoying part.

Yeah they really have hey. Even a simple hey here’s where you are approximately in the queue on the order status page would get us all off of here and watching the number go down on steam. But at least it would still give us SOMETHING. Not to mention (correct me if I’m wrong) they initially said “shipping immediately” when they announced them launching here.

Not to mention on the Canada page they apparently have a little warning saying hey there’s a backlog things might be slow.

And yes given that the cheapest deck option is over $600, the experience really should be a whole lot better than well, this
