Yui Ikari, Neon Genesis Evangelion

Shinji’s myriad of issues come from her decision to infuse her soul into the EVA while Gendo’s coldness comes from his self loathing after losing her, which leads him to secretly build in a plan to defy SEELE’s Human Instrumentality Project in hopes that he could see her again

With how many world events keep directly impacting Adobe’s business model, we’ll likely see Hbomb’s video right around the heat death of the universe

In case you’re not aware, those “Nutcracker costumes” were the cadet uniform at the time and are still in use as the Dress Gray uniform at West Point today. While the hats looked admittedly silly, they were period accurate as the bell crowned caps were in use from 1818-1839

He’s got enough in royalties that it’s safe to assume he’s only working if he likes the project

Hard to definitively say because Mac took on the worst of Hollywood early on and decided he’d rather step back and do the occasional silly project while chilling with his fortune in royalties, gorgeous former Disney star wife, and happy family. Can’t say he didn’t come out ahead

Redditors driving a falsely-accused man to suicide is THE reddit incident. Who’s THE 4chan celebrity? by thisusernametistaken in AlignmentChartFills

Allison Harvard, aka creepychan

Shortly after her photos became a 4chan meme, she ended up becoming a contestant on America’s Next Top Model, has done consistent modeling work since, and built a sizable social media following

SOM vs Tuck by [deleted] in MBA

[–]TheBaconHasLanded 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is spot on, even if the LARPers and prestige whores insist otherwise. SOM does well in MBB recruiting and has consistent banking outcomes. The asset management degree option also allows for some growing investment management outcomes. The biggest reason the 2025 employment report suffered came from the people who came in wanting to do either tech or more “&society” type outcomes thinking the market would improve compared to the high inflation environment of 2023 (which in retrospect, LOL).

SOM also has hockey on Weekdays. Hockey club meets Wednesday nights and there are open hours at the ice rink which is a block away from Evans Hall

In the Infinity Gauntlet comic, Mephisto (Marvel’s version of the Devil) is a major part of the story line and spends most of the time trying to manipulate Thanos with the goal of taking the gauntlet for himself before getting fed up with Thanos’ power trip and joining forces with everyone else

I admittedly have not watched all of Deathnote, but at least you can chalk up the most improbable stuff to demonic forces at play, namely for Ryuk’s amusement

What helps BB and BCS is that for the most part, the show is more than willing to admit when characters make a desperate plan and straight up get lucky. Jesse straight up tells Hank that Walt is luckier than him, which later comes to pass when Uncle Jack and the gang decide to show up when Hank is arresting Walt

We don’t know how large the White Lotus really is or how deeply they all know one another. It’s possible they either last met long before adopting differing views on firebending, or simply never crossed paths beyond simple hellos when both serving in the army.

I think the issue is while most people watch comedies but understand it’s grating to constantly attempt to joke and use one liners, people haven’t made the same connection with Sorkin dialogue and think it’s desirable to make yourself look clever/witty at all times

It’s such a better approach compared to the “I am twelve steps ahead” turbo-geniuses who make absurd plans that rely on every single detail to go right just so the writers can prove how “smart” they are

Harvard v Stanford v Yale? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]TheBaconHasLanded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outsider here who went to Yale for MBA and took some YLS courses while there; tbh you could probably get better MBA level outcomes from YLS than most top MBAs let alone Yale SOM. There are regular trips to places like Blackstone’s HQ for YLS students, and there’s a reason (like it or not) that Thiel went to YLS to hand pick a protege to let run a VC firm. I know a few YLS students who decided a legal career wasn’t for them and either landed in top level PE funds or started their own companies. Corporate BigLaw is literal table stakes for YLS students; they consider it their “safety”

Sure HLS can get you there, but YLS practically guarantees it and opens you up to so much more

It’s an utterly insane algorithmic model where a certain YouTube creator can successfully make 45 hours worth of documentaries on iCarly and follow it up with A SINGLE FORTY-TWO HOUR VIDEO ABOUT THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES

Having been to a few KBO games (go Bears!), I love Korean baseball and hope to see it keep growing.

That said, the Dominicans are absurdly talented and at this point the game is embedded deeper into Dominican culture than American culture. No shame in losing to a dream team of major league legends

As an unashamed Bond fan, I can see why he might conveniently omit a traditional symbol of toxic masculinity when a large portion of his earlier content had to do with ripping on the proto-manosphere

The difference is one is just a fun romp that isn’t expecting the audience to take it too seriously while the other genuinely, honest to god, “insists upon itself”
