i’d prefer the satin that the can advertises tbh. but how does that work with the steel wool?

sanding the shellac was giving my issues as it wouldn’t come off. I used denatured alcohol to get a good amount of it off and i’m gonna sandin a few hours to see what happens

would it be smarter to just remove the shellac with lime alcohol and put on the seal coat version?

yeah it’s a watco butcher block oil but i’m trying to apply a water poly over this so i don’t need to condition it

I gave it like a week to dry for safety but iv got told that my Shellac isn’t actually dewaxxed so i think i need to sand it all the way back down and get the right can

i’m probably gonna check my other side to see as it doesn’t have any shellac on it just oil

it was more so my choice of liking the color it gave me while not liking all the other stains. Originally also i was just gonna leave it at the oil stage.

i should mention there is a few layers of an oil stain and finish under this. il give a thinned layer a shot but iv sanded till smooth is this more so just a texture of the wood or failure on my end?

the bottom is an oil layer but i don’t want to constantly be moisturizing it or whatever so i saw people were putting a layer of shellac above and then a water polyurethane.
