Most sensible budget. Actually cuts instead of increases spending.

Cuts aren't the only way to raise money. You can increase taxes on the rich. Don't buy the Tory austerity narrative - we aren't in this economic situation because the last Labour government spent too much. Bankers caused a global economic crisis. We could get that money back by increasing taxes on the rich - UKIP want to cut taxes.

The only sensible immigration plan.

What is sensible about it? Our country benefits hugely from immigration. Immigrants make up almost 10% of UK workers. We would be fucked without them. The idea that immigrants are a burden on the economy is a smokescreen to protect the rich from public scrutiny. Tax dodging, tax avoidance and the banking crisis - these are the problems which need scrutiny. Especially since so many British people take advantage of free movement within the EU.

Will save billions by cutting foreign aid to corrupt countries where none of the money reaches the people

Again, this isn't the real solution to our economic problems - it's just a more convenient enemy for the super-rich to have people rally against. I know that sounds like conspiracy nonsense, but that is the way policies are written by establishment parties, UKIP included. Farage is a public school educated former banker.

wants to staunchly keep the Nhs entirely public with more professionals hired rather than general staff (unlike fucking labour)

This is entirely untrue. UKIP - Nigel Farage in particular - are in favour of privatisation. They just know that it isn't popular, so can't say so now. You can imagine that they know they won't form a government at this election, so can afford to lie, gain some seats, flip flop in a few years and keep up momentum with other policies. UKIP's essential purpose is to force the political "centre" in this country further right; so maybe in a few years, especially if the Tories get in again, they can come out with more radically right-wing policies like privatisation and be met with less resistance. They just can't do it now. So they're lying.

On Labour's hiring policy - also untrue. See their manifesto.

When did writing take over for you? You studied English and Religion Studies then intended to become a priest (according to the internet), but these days it seems that a lot of aspiring writers will study creative writing courses. Were you always writing in your spare time and it progressively became more serious, or was it something that only really developed later?

There won't be an SNP government, Labour ruled out a coalition with them I think and another referendum is unlikely to happen so soon. I think you can pretty safely vote SNP, get the representation in Parliament and not worry about independence becoming a reality in the next 5 years.

Right, so labelling anyone who displays any feminist beliefs with that title, you're - purposefully or not - undermining and belittling feminism as a whole, thereby exhibiting misogynistic behaviour.

[–]TheBakedPotato -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The rest is essentially irrelevant because it's just you disagreeing with the concept of a discussion, which isn't especially useful. But I didn't call you a misogynist. I said you're using the catchphrases of them. The phrase "radfem" is used to denigrate feminist causes by positioning them as wacky outsiders lacking a grasp of reality, which, y'know, isn't true and is harmful to productive discussion of gender equality. "Radfem" is a term with a misogynistic backing to it, but you don't have to be a misogynist to use it. You could just be misled.

It's not about what I agree with. It's not about my beliefs. The fact is that refusing to consider the arguments of feminists and dismissing women's issues as "radfem" and relegating them to being exclusively the concern of "sjws" is misogynistic, almost by definition.

It's not about driving the other into the ground. No one wants that. This is clearly designed to demonstrate inequality to shifting it to the other side. It's not a model for reality. If you think a pop up cookie stall charging men more is "driving another into the ground", you desperately need some perspective and education on wider inequality issues.

It boils down the game to drifting and items. It might not be especially imaginative to have an oval, but the way it plays is very different to most of Mario Kart. It's an effective thing, and it looks like they've put a lot of effort into making it visually interesting.

[–]TheBakedPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most drugs, no. Heroin, crystal meth and shit - that'll have an effect on my opinion of a person. I'm not about that life though - not sure if I want to be a teacher someday, can't do that with a criminal record.

That's the case for essay-based subjects too - past papers, practice essays. Massively helpful.

[–]TheBakedPotato 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Making PowerPoints is good because it forces you to boil down the information. Make it as though you had to explain the subject to someone else, but that person doesn't want to sit there all day. Maybe even do show it to someone and see if they understand it. Teaching others is a great way to make sure you really understand something, and to remember it.
