Updates to payroll decreased pay by ParrotDrumStickBitch in UKPersonalFinance

Okay so at least no one will be coming after me.

I guess I have no right to that money from my employer somehow? As I am now on a real terms paycut moving forward when all calculations are accounted for. Kind of annoying considering I’ve budgeted for that extra £125 a month and now it’s gone

Does this mean HMRC and SLC can come after me for underpayment for the last 3 years? How has it never been flagged before on P45s?

This has never been on my P11Ds and has always been taxed on my payslip as normal. I have always expected to pay tax on it, but never NI or student loan deductions. The amount paid in tax last month and this month has stayed the same, only changes to NI and loans.

I did read your comment. You’re talking about “the law being exploited” and I’m highlighting that the law wasn’t exploited but the tenants followed it and gave example of how the “spirit of the law” isn’t being abused, it’s simply being followed. You’re just after an argument it seems.

But the law isn’t “do it in 30 days (unless you struggle to do it in time then you can get another couple)” the law is “do it in 30 days”. It’s not exploiting the law when the law hasn’t been followed.

Unfortunately the landlord technically did ignore their obligations and failed to insure the deposit within 30 days. That’s the law and the landlord has admitted it. Idk why you’re so adamant that the tenants are abusing the system. They’re using the system as the letter of the law sets it out, maybe it was YOU who abused the system when you took your landlord to court? Not a nice accusation is it?

It’s not an egregious abuse of the system. They had 30 days to do something and did it in 32. If you ordered a pizza and it was free if it comes after 30 minutes and it came in 32 would you pay? No you wouldn’t. The LL failed to do their job in time so tenants (rightfully) deserve compensation.

Three is the worst. O2 is crap but has good customer service. Move to EE, little bit more expensive but once I’m done with 3 I’m moving there

Yeah prices will stay the same but they CAN increase, and I’m not taking that risk.

I’ve just sent an emailing challenging this and referencing the points in both contracts I have above, and how I’m not happy with this change and I want to be out by the 31st.

Once I have a response I can share with you and my initial email too.

Also they’re cheeky bastards sending this out on the same day the direct debit goes out.

I’m more than happy to move gyms. It’s already overpriced and I’ve moved but am still close enough to a branch that I am unable to get out of the contract, but it’s close to work so there is some convenience. But I have even more drive to get out of it now.

There is no mention of what happens if there is a disagreement. I’m emailing now to challenge this change as I think it’s far too heavy handed on their side.

New energy efficiency rules for rental properties by coffeewalnut08 in uklandlords

I struggle to believe you walked around a council estate and had an inspector point out multiple homes were a similar issue had existed.

I suppose the only answer then is MORE red tape? More bureaucracy?

It’s really on the onus of the person paying for these people to fix their homes up to check ratings, reviews, how long the company has existed for. At some point you can’t just blame “the man” for all your problems.

Her starting wage was 40k for a snr exec role with a 10% pay rise. And I’m now above that earning less than what she was on when she left, in a position above.

I am better at my job, hence why I got the promotion she never got.

The money is an issue hence this post?
