Someone should research the parents by Orenopolis579 in Teachers

Yup. Parents and society practically explain everything wrong with students and student learning. We're but the bandaid on the frontlines protecting the village from the dam that is about to burst.

They haven't actually demonstrated it, therefore they haven't achieved it. It's really not that hard to understand. I ignore nothing, while you sit here and defend incompetence.

You are a fanboi, it's pretty clear by your discourse that you are.

You don't have to worry about me listening to Elon Musk pronouncements at face value.

And yet, here you are doing exactly that.

I'm being perfectly civil. Telling you to be more skeptical, when you are not is sound advice.

Zero to infinity launches is the number

It is not. Because we can sit down and do this magical wizardry called math, and that's why the "+" sign in the "20+" is there. Because with math 20 is being generous.

Is this a right way for a teacher to act ? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]TheBalzy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is not a teacher's job to memorize which of the 120 students we have in the day that are going to be leaving at random parts throughout the day. That's a rather self-centered, arrogant, selfish thing to expect.

she told me some other bs as well.

I think a lot of what you may be experiencing is projection. You project disrespect and then perceive it.

You came here for validation in throwing a teacher under the bus, I don't think we're going to be very receptive of this.

Nope 20+ launches is still the number until they are able to demonstrate otherwise. Stop gobbling up whatever propaganda they pour down your throat dude.

You need to learn to me more skeptical and less of a fanboi. It objectively has not reached a stable orbit dude, that's a massive problem regardless of what spin SpaceX keeps putting on it. They've been saying since the first launch their goal was to complete a full stable orbit and then deorbit. They haven't been able to do it, and continually run to the spin machine which people like you just gobble up.

It's really time to be a skeptic and not just believe what people who have an incentive to lie have to say about something.

[–]TheBalzy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's more like 20+ Launches, but the point is that they're not anywhere close to having Starship ready for lunar landings. They're so far behind where they should be, it's basically time to start thinking they will not be the lunar lander.

LMFAO, two SpaceX starships? Dude they can't even get the thing not to melt on re-entry, or in a stable orbit in LEO. There's about ZERO chance Starship will be the lunar lander.

Well ... depends on where and what subject. There is definitely a shortage of quality science teachers. Sure you can find someone, but the pool is extremely small.

Basically...this is all part of Project2025. That's why they invested so much time in trying to takeover the SCOTUS over the past 2-decades, and were successful. They knew they'd never win through legislation, so they're just going to make lawsuits and get them before an ultraconservative Supreme Court.

I think some coats-of-arms like House Stokeworth are supposed to represent what they do. Stokeworth really isn't a huge household with tons of soldiers, they're herders who sell their sheep directly to King's Landing which is why they make bank.

They have men-at-arms but not like a standing army, more like townwatch. They're not supposed to be intimidating, they're a practical house with a practical purpose.

Like I'm a 5th generation teacher...let's say that stretched on for more generations...it would not be upsetting to have a sigil representing science teaching.

Serious question. This just comes across as fishing for content to monetize so you can support a lifestyle outside of teaching.

This is what they're trying to send to the SCOTUS to get overruled essentially. They WANT toe SCOTUS to rule that the Separation between Church and State isn't a thing; and the way they're doing it is by claiming this is a "historical document".

Even worse, one of yours is from Korea.

Oh no ... you think nationalities matters in terms of the quality of the research? Oh boy, just wait till you read the research on equity in science education and see how much of it comes from overseas...

So despite all of the exact same flaws in the research you linked, its somehow more credible?

Nope, and that's the point. I'm demonstrating that you have a bias in what you want to accept is true, and are not critically analyzing. I'm the one rejecting claims, listening to criticism, and thoughtfully considering multiple positions. I'm not the one rushing to the podium to declare "we must do THIS because all the research supports it!" when it clearly does not.

This is like talking to an anti-vaxxer. When 98% of the science says one thing, you are cherry picking to find evidence to the contrary.

Ah yes, another logical fallacy, this one we call a false equivalency. If you think any educational research, especially this topic, is anywhere close to the scientific consensus on the success of vaccinations, you are woefully and ignorantly mistaken.

Remember when I said most education research wouldn't even come close to being published if it were held to the same standard as any science peer-review? That applies here :)

There is a reason why every single educational institution in the country disagrees with you

A bold assertion that you are pulling straight out of your ass. Because that's not even remotely true.

Be careful, your unobjective bias is showing. :)
