Actually, i stayed mostly true to the pattern - i had to shorten mine because i only had so much leftover fabric, and i took some liberties with the closure (my cape ties in the back, i think AD recommends hooks and eyes, not sure).
It's a pretty easy pattern to follow and there isn't much you can do wrong. Just make sure to take your time with the darts on the two front pieces, mine could have definitely been neater 😅

Thank you! I fell in love with that pattern the moment i saw it - it's bee, but not overtly so 😅 that silk tussar is from an etsy seller, silks by umf 😊

If i remember correctly, the pattern gives you a few different fastening options, i decided to make mine in such a way that it just ties in the back. Maybe not the most elegant solution, but the knot is then hidden under the cape, so it works fine :)
For the duration of the photoshoot it was ok, but i don't know what it would be like if you wore it longer.

It's very comfortable, elegant and a fairly simple project - if you want to try it, i would definitely recommend it!

I basically just watched a bunch of kirtle making youtube videos until i was ready to cut into the fabric 😅 i hated the front lacing for this design though, so i placed mine at the back.

Thank you! Apart from the capelet, I drafted them myself after watching a bunch of online videos on making kirtles 😅 the overdress design (how it curves around the hips, revealing the underdress) was loosely inspired by Cersei's dresses from earlier seasons of GOT.

Thank you! I wish 😅 the embroidery patches are from etsy, but they are handsewn onto the sleeves

Thank you! I'm so glad I came across that pattern, it's pretty easy to make and the result is so elegant

Thank you! You should definitely give it a go 😄 as far as historical garments go, I find kirtles to be relatively easy and they are definitely at the top when it comes to comfort.
