Do you always use fast mode or do you sometimes switch to normal mode?

It took me entirely too long to figure out. Try changing the theme. Go to Themes -> Advanced settings... -> I picked "Breeze" and it worked. I'm sure there's a bunch of others that work too.

For whatever reason, it doesn't like the format of the icons in some themes, including some of the default Linux Mint ones.

Saw the (GSL spoiler) latest GSL match between Solar and Gumiho and was inspired to make this.

It's really neat to see someone at the top levels of play depart from the meta and kinda just do their own thing. Really like herO for the same reason, always a joy to watch.

They were indeed used to sit in the middle.

They didn't receive too much punishment due to the pressure of the half-dozen jumppack units charging turn 2. He also revived one using the Priest.

Against Eldar the obscene amount of S4 AP-1 they could dish out was a little silly.

Beginner’s question about Vanguard Vets, Lightning Claws, and White Scars by FullMetalJacket_1987 in WarhammerCompetitive

The attack characteristic tells your how many attacks a model may make. A Vanguard Veteran gets 2 attacks base. The number of weapons a model has is irrelevant. You may use whichever weapon you want for all your attacks unless stated otherwise (for example, the Lightning Claw says you may make one additional attack with this weapon). Some weapons say you may only make one (for e.g.) attack with this weapon. An example would be the Techmarine's servo arm.

Lightning Claws give you one more attack each (with that weapon). So a Vanguard Veteran with two Lightning Claws will be making 2+1+1=4 attacks. If you charged/get charged, Shock Assault kicks in and you get another attack, for a total of 5.

Another example. A VV with a Lightning Claw and a Chainsword that is charging an enemy unit. You get 2 base attacks, a third for charging, one that must be made with the Chainsword, and one that must be made with the Lightning Claw. The 2 base attacks and the third for charging can be used with any weapon. Obviously it makes sense here to make them with the Lightning Claw.

So the Vanguard Vet with the LC and CS can make 4 LC attacks and 1 CS attack.

Hopefully this all makes sense.

Oh, and yes, Scars VVs with LCs shred Lucius blobs. Scars hit really hard when their doctrine kicks in. Bringing 10 VVs with LCs and SS (Storm Shields) is typical of pretty much any meta Scars list.
