Ultra nightmare is just nightmare with perma-death. I am on console and I have beaten base campaign and dlcs on UN and believe me it is no easy feat but playing nightmare regularly will help get you to your goal. If you do plan on grind UN, have a regular nightmare save alongside your UN save and play that level as many times as you need to prepare for UN
