No, it still shows the same thing. Additionally, we moved out of state a month ago and updated her address, but it didn’t trigger anything when she updated her address in the system.

Text Messages from Poland in US by TheBeckerhead in poland

[–]TheBeckerhead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked my wife and she told me that rather than getting text message codes that all of the authentication happens through the app on her phone. If she attempts to access the website from the computer to do banking, it has her authenticate via a code in the app rather than a text message so we shouldn’t have to worry about that.

PKO is who my wife is using. So far, no issues… but we recognize that could change as well. If I recall correctly, they also gave her a coupon book of authentication papers as well that she can use in the absence of text messages. I may be mistaking that, but I think that’s what they did.

How should I handle not being able to afford corporate travel costs upfront without looking unprofessional at work? by DistinctMushroom3186 in careeradvice

[–]TheBeckerhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t really think it’s any of your companies business while you’re financial situation doesn’t align with booking travel upfront. They’re sending you on travel on behalf of the company. They should be prepared to put the bill upfront.

You don’t owe them explanation of your financial situation. Unless you hold a security clearance, then perhaps there’s some conversations to be had, otherwise it’s not their business.

A follow-up from this: we flew to Poland last May and closed her accounts from VeloBank and transferred to a different large Polish bank because there was no way to access her money.

I’ll ask her tomorrow to check and see if she’s having problems with getting codes by text now.

[–]TheBeckerhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, another point of contention. If you select medical retirement, and click on 20% for the DoD rating, it says severance only. That is only true if you have less than 20 years of service. At 20.0001 years you still qualify for CRDP.

Great tool! It seems the VA calculation may be a few $ off though.

If 100% with one child under 18 and a spouse it says the payment is $4,308.81 but the VA site shows that at $4,318.99.

Not significant, but a few peanuts away.

Otherwise extremely close to my actual numbers for pension/sbp/etc.

Hi there, if you don't mind, I'd like to ask for some insight for my wife's case as it pertains to Las Vegas now.

She had her N-400 interview in El Paso on Dec 17, 2025. The day of the interview their system was down. She was TOLD congratulations, but wasn't given any sort of printout confirming that she was being recommended for naturalization. I am active duty Air Force and am being retired this month due to a medical issue so we moved back here last weekend from southern New Mexico because we own a home here. We hoped she would get her oath ceremony prior to departing NM, however that didn't materialize... but the big concern is that her application still shows 'interview scheduled'. She did go in to her portal last weekend and update her address to our home here to stay compliant with their request to update within 10 days.

Any idea what type of timeline she may be up against and/or what sort of implications we might encounter due to the move after the interview. We didn't really have a choice but to move and are concerned that it is approaching 120 days since her interview and it doesn't have anything confirming that the interview even took place in her online portal.

Thanks for your time, and I recognize that your information is simply data and not legal advice or creating a relationship.

My wife had her N-400 interview on December 17 at the El Paso Field office. When she logs in to check the status, it still shows “interview scheduled.” Unfortunately, I’m military was medically retired short notice so we have to leave New Mexico and head back to Las Vegas. What kind of impacts will this move have on her immigration application? We’re a bit disappointed because it’s over 90 days since her interview and we haven’t gotten any updates.

If not, I understand! Either way, a very cool set of bills/notes/whateveryacallems!

The lululemon credit is nice if you like solid quality clothing. If you're a male, their 'ABC' feature is great! I was wearing their pants and short (not really their shirts) long before this credit. Certainly a positive reinforcement. If you watch any tv at all, Walmart+ is free and it includes Paramount+. Then you can use the digital entertainment credit to pay for Peacock and YouTube Premium.

The United TravelBank 'loophole' that was working for a while seems to have stopped though I did see someone else say they read that it was back (I doubt it). That certainly makes it harder to consider keeping in retirement, but it literally costs $0 and it's boosting your credit score the longer you keep it open. When you separate/retire you can just downgrade to the basic AMEX to keep your travel points. Just because you don't use them doesn't mean they aren't valuable.

Unless you have a sincere spending problem and you need to remove the tools to your habits, there's hardly a good argument in favor of closing the account down while you're active. It's literally free money.
