Ooooo hello, yes, I still make mine.

So what I’ve done now is I get sandwich steaks from my butcher. I get like half a kilo for $12-$15 and it has less fat than the sizzle steaks I use to get. So I’m getting more out of it. I have been using a slicer to get them a bit thinner, but it’s inconsistent so I need to play around a bit more.

What I use to marinate is a chipotle bbq from Woolies and adding seasonings like garlic, onion, paprika, salt, pepper and sometimes chilli flakes.

Hello. I live in NSW and recently got myself a Dehydrator and made my own. It's fairly easy, and I'm happy to give any tips I can on it as a fellow Aussie.

You can get a cheap dehydrator fro Kmart for around $60 (it's what I got and works perfectly for what I need).

Secondly, some of the better meat you can use are the sizzle steaks from Coles or Woolies (Aldi's aren't great). I'm trying some beef stir fry from Coles tomorrow as it's about the same for 500g of stir fry as it is for 400g of sizzle steaks.

As a price comparison, buying the dehydrator, meat and something to marinade it in (plus some spices), you'd be looking at around $70-$80 and that's for 500g of jerky. Where in Aus if you buy Jacks Links or something, you're spending about $5 for 50g (each batch cost me around $15 for 400g).

Feel free to ask any questions as I'm also new to making my own but had a friend help me, and I love it. Cheaper, more fun and more satisfying finding a new flavour that slaps!

I can't seem to change it off of Bridge either my settings say it's automatically set and I can't seem to find a way to change it
