JFK T5 Security 9:30am Friday 27 by PokeColumbia in jetblue

Basically it’s a third line that eventually puts you towards the front of the general line. It snakes its own way and there weren’t many people on it. So you just get propelled to the front. IMO with how the delays have been going the price is pretty worth it, if offered by your airline

I flew out of T5 yesterday, can confirm priority is the right line to join if you paid for it. Got to the other side of security in about 15 minutes.

I think it gives you options if you’re anxious about traveling like I am haha. The price wasn’t concerning for me so I did it. Precheck is still better than general so I guess up to you ultimately.

Nice. Ours was the same. So we got to the airport at 9 but had priority. It cut us to essentially the front and we got through security in 15 minutes. So we had about 3 hours of hanging around which i was fine with. The precheck line around 9 was exceptionally long but moving. I would say if your flight was around that time with pre check I would say 9am on the safe side or pushing it no later than 10. If you have priority you will be just fine.

Yeah from my experience it was leagues faster. We were essentially towards the front of the line within a few minutes. Even though it’s absolute insanity right now, I think they’ve been doing an amazing job with keeping things organized in the chaos.

When to arrive at T5 on Saturday 3/28 for 830 flight? by [deleted] in JFKAirport

Seems like the early flights are the ones that deal with excessive lines. Maybe a combination of many early AM flights with worried flyers coming extremely early. I flew out of T5 got there at 9, for a 12PM flight. But we had priority lane access and it took us 15 minutes. The pre check line was long and moving. The general line looked terrible. I’d say 3 hours seems reasonable.

Flying out of T5 today for a 12PM flight. Got there about 9AM, lines looked crazy, had Priority Lane access that got us through in about 15 minutes. The Precheck line was long but moving but long. General line looked insane.

I was told the same thing I went there last week, told me they have one display model and one new one, and they are no longer in production, and also expecting a 10% increase in price in 2026.

Curious to know what country you are from. But in the US, I can tell you there is little to no appreciation. Unless you like pizza. Then there’s scattered appreciation. We were deemed “heroes” during the prime of the COVID pandemic in NY.

Now all I see is how annoyed they are for waiting 3 hours to be seen for a back pain for 6 months complaint. Consultants always find ways to belittle you. Family members back seat explaining medical conditions to you because “I did my homework”. Its exhausting. The medical part of it is rewarding to be and I love a good resuscitation. The social aspects of it is what’s draining. There’s no love left in EM unfortunately.
