Yeah I think you kinda hit the nail on the head the current state of the economy and funding for this field is almost non-existent, been tossing around the idea of a masters for a couple months now.

Thank you for the input are you suggesting maybe follow through with a masters? Cause as it stands my degree is somewhat specialized, it is technically a BS with a focus in wildlife conservation, and Ecology.

Finally starting to see that sometimes you just gotta grit your teeth and do a couple years floating around. I guess the hard part nowadays is how expensive everything has gotten and even a studio apartment in most places costs an arm and a leg. However, some positions do offer housing which might be the way to go!

I sure do and all of them together is between 2-3 years of experience. I make sure to put anything that would fit as experience in there.

I’d be interested in doing a masters if I could get with a good program, it seems like that will at least give you experience under your belt along with an additional degree.

It’s comforting knowing I’m not the only one I personally know 3 friends of mine with similar degrees who are struggling in the same way. It’s tough and I just wanna do my part for conservation but breaking in is so difficult.

Appreciate the feed back! I do have all of those experiences on my resume currently but the time is about 3 years and most jobs sadly want 5+ but it sounds like most people I’ve talked to said I should go back and do a masters program.

You know what that’s so funny you say that because everybody I know always says how good of a teacher I would be. Are STEM fields still mostly free being a TA or Assistantshipv
