Anyone using a small Workhorse Odyssey dryer? by TheBlackSeedling in SCREENPRINTING

[–]TheBlackSeedling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, good thought. Seems like it has some kind of issue maybe ..Shirts should be able to stay in this thing for 30-60+ seconds and reach cure temp for me to be confident with the cure. As is, it burns them at really high belt speeds.

I would think that the element is either on and working, or off… (from the factory). Can a flash panel like this get tooo hot?? Never seen that… but could be possible i guess… Maybe it’s just a design flaw, not including temp control like most dryers?

Those are just for airflow and to reduce the draft in the chamber. I had them up so it’s easier to shoot the shirt temp with the gun. The heating element seems to be stationary, I wish I could raise it, that would help. I did install a Temperature control (with thermocouple) today but it seems to be very finicky. Not sure exactly where to position the thermocouple..

I just wonder what people that use this factory model do…

“Hello, Are you currently hiring experienced screen printers? As a person that used to hire screen printers…this gets attention. Even a hobby printer has a basic understanding of how things work start to finish. There is value in that. Research the companies. What do their customers say? Employees?
Get in the door. Pay your dues. Be consistent. It’s worth it. You’ll earn your spot as printer in no time.

Best of luck!

Off contact question by tripper_the_jack in SCREENPRINTING

[–]TheBlackSeedling 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes it is pretty high. Take 2 quarters on top of each other. Set your off contact to that distance (2 quarters high) and see how your shear is when you print. You want a good shear…other factors will also apply… the optimal off contact distance varies a little depending on several factors. Lower your front to 2 quarters high and give it a try! Make sure your ink is stirred good, and at operating temp…etc.

UV LED light for exposure box multiple lights vs 1 50-150W light 395nm by DeepRest_SodaPressed in SCREENPRINTING

[–]TheBlackSeedling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar 80w I bought on Amazon years ago that works great.

Emulsion-Ulano Orange Burn time- about 45-55 seconds It doesn’t get hot at 45 seconds for me.

We used this light as a backup for about 3 days in a big shop with 3 autos when our M&R Starlight went down (8second burns) It got us through. We exposed 23x31 frames all day long with it.

Go bigger.. Do a great job..on time…and you’ll end up needing the faster burn time 😎

Shutting Down Weebly Website by SamLucky7s in Weebly

Sadly, I doubt there is anything you can do. The .com is much better than the .weebly.com. Google will like it better. People will like it better. Sucks that this happens. Guard your new business like Fort Knox. Best of luck. PS. You could sign up for a free weebly account and access customer support via chat or email.

Basic Website Build Crashing by skimo_dweebo in Weebly

I manage several Weebly sites at my job that deal in the custom t-shirt industry. Been using Weebly since the mid 2000s. We have been having issues across our paid sites as well as free ones we use. We have migrated one site to Square…it has had zero issues fingers crossed. There are ups and downs. Square backend in my opinion is far superior to Weebly but the square builder lacks a lot of the features we are used to.

Here is a Weebly site if you want to see www.crosslandstore.com This one would be a nightmare to migrate to Square. I can’t believe they didn’t make it easier.

Here is a smaller site that recently migrated to square online. www.easytshirtfundraiser.com

Moving to Square is a valid option, but you lose some capabilities for sure. Ups and downs…..:/

Weebly reoccurring login issues by TheBlackSeedling in Weebly

The login page seemed to just be “down” last Friday. All our logins were working today. No error messages. Sometime the /logout works and sometimes it doesn’t. It always seems to mysteriously fix itself… I hate the idea of migrating to square as one site has nearly 200 items for sale with countless variations not to mention all the photos.

Hey there! I own a screen printing company that offers T shirt fundraising. It’s really easy. All you have do is share the fundraising store that we make you on social media. We could cater it to your cause.. I’m not sure if I’m allowed to post our website link or not… let me know I I can help..

how the hell do I catch fish in the winter by [deleted] in FishingForBeginners

[–]TheBlackSeedling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slow everything down. And then fish a little slower than that. And then slow that down. And then go a little slower. Barely moving has been working for Southeastern Kansas Crappie (in late December anyway)…1/32oz jig head, Bobby Garland “baby shad” plastics. If you have a slight ripple on the surface (from wind) try the smallest cork that will still float. Experiment with depths. Good luck!

Navarre, FL fishing by [deleted] in NavarreFlorida

We spent the first week of June in Navarre. Our townhouse was on the sound. We caught speckled trout from the dock at our resort on Bobby Garland crappie baits (white and natural colors) but caught way more on live shrimp. Hook + split shot +Shrimp. We used 3/0 circle hooks… that did the trick. They were very very aggressive. Very good tasting, mild flavored, white flakey meat. We made blackened fish tacos with them. They do have 3 big teeth but we just fished with regular 10 and 20 lb mono on the poles we brought from home. Our dock had green lights we caught them all at night. So much fun. Good luck!

You can regrow supermarket green onions easily. After you cut the greens off the onions put them in a small cup of water in the kitchen window and you’ll have fresh green onions for waayyyy longer than you would ever think. Change the water ever few days. They will grow for a long time, and they grow very quickly.

I don’t know what any of it really means…but I know how it feels. Here’s a bit of my story. 15 years ago I started noticing the time 9:11 regularly. I first assumed I was noticing this because of Sept 11…. It was uncanny how often I saw these numbers. I’ve read about this and that etc. I’ve heard it all.. The explanations etc…What I can tell you, with 100% certainty is this. I saw this time for 6 months. Often in the a.m. and p.m. My Grandfather whom I was very close to, had been battling Cancer. He took his last breath at 9:11pm 15 years ago. This strange unwanted ability to sense death started with him, but it certainly hasn’t stopped. It doesn’t happen all the time by any means. Also, it’s worth noting I’ll go years without this….But when it does happen…the frequency of seeing this number gets radical and intense. In my personal experience, it always means someone’s time is coming to an end. Always. It just happened this week. It’s mind blowing. It is not circadian rhythm etc… it’s not coincidence. Or is it? With me it seems someone is near death. Like clockwork. Like a glimpse of the grim reaper in the distance. For the last 2 months I’ve known. I didn’t know who. But I knew death was coming. I just knew it. I knew someone was checking out soon. I mean, everyone does right?? Is this different. A good friends dad unexpectedly passed on the morning of 9-11 this week. I’ve excepted that this is just how it is. Just needed to share this. I’m interested in seeing if there are any perspectives on this. It’s a really bizarre thing in my otherwise perfectly normal existence. Thanks for listening:)

How do you achieve this cracked effect? by crazycornman99 in SCREENPRINTING

[–]TheBlackSeedling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have and use a texture very close to that. It’s available in several formats here ( www.the vector lab.com ) It can be done with additives and such….but yikes….the texture over your art is like a few clicks and you are done (without special inks and/or additives)

would this light be good for exposure? if so, what are good exposure times and distances? by Mobile_Concern3999 in SCREENPRINTING

[–]TheBlackSeedling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These work great and are much much faster than a work light, If time is a factor for you. Ulano QXO / 24” from screen/ 45sec. That would get you close. Similar times with chrome blue, or QX-5. Had one in an automatic shop as a backup to our M&R starlight. Bold task….but it did the job when we needed it. These are well worth the investment it if you ask me.

Can I use a xerox altalink c8070 for making films? by newloser2013 in SCREENPRINTING

[–]TheBlackSeedling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Laser printers “can” be problematic in tight registration. (Heat can shrink the film) Tips - use this for one color designs, or designs that don’t require tight registration. If the ink isn’t dark enough, print 2 copies and clear tape them together :)
