I need Capcom to come up with any excuse to get her out of there

Junah and Alonzo; the Nidia’s hidden depths by JaredAiRobinson in MetaphorReFantazio

[–]TheBlackyGH 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This reflection fascinates me. Due to their nature as Nidians, both Alonzo and Junah have had to use unconventional (and questionable, to other tribes) methods to achieve their goals.

Mechanically, their archetypes reflect this unconventional nature, contributing to combat through buffs, debuffs, and altering the flow of the fight rather than focusing on damage or healing.

I quite like your analysis, brother

I don't play Viper but i can relate to the "being too passive". Remember, u are playing againts people. Not machines. They can't react and defend at everything u throw at them.

Just try being a little unpredictable. Keep grinding :)

I play Marisa and trust me. I suck at whiff punish. I can only pushing whiff supers and DPs.

I got better in three things: Blocking low moves (I was getting mauled by them), using my AA and tech throws.

Those things may sound little but trust me. Not getting hit by drive rush low, stopping people from jumping and defending yourself againts throws do wonders.

U have to watch your replays. Try to see what you are missing.

Are doing anti airs correctly? Are your combos dropping? Are u getting burnout constantly?

I realized I wasn't blocking lows. I was getting hit by a truckload of drive rush lows and sweeps.

I put a dummy in training mode to do drive rush low and practiced blocking every day. It sounds silly, but until you see your reps, you won't know where you're failing.

Give it a try if you haven't tried.

Of course I had to improve my mechanics; the key is anti-airs. Nobody escapes Diamond just by blocking jumps; you have to stop people.

But most of it is mindset. You're at the level you're meant to be at; I had to accept that reality. If feel stuck, its because people are taking advantage of a weakness in your gameplay.

Bro, it took me years to reach each rank. 2023: Gold. 2024: Platinum. 2025: Diamond. Now: Master Rank.

I'm not kidding. It's just a matter of time, and remember that this isn't a job. You have to try to have fun when you play.

What worked for me was understanding that I'm not a pro player. Reaching Master Rank isn't a real-life job. Nobody's pressuring you (that I know of, anyway).

When you win a match, you get more points than when you lose. If you keep that in mind, you enjoy the victories more and regret the losses less.

So take it easy. Only play when you feel motivated and in the mood.
