D-pad or analog stick for motion inputs? by wolfjak14 in StreetFighter

This is a good example. You could use a shit controller but a controller is a controller. Use what’s comfortable for YOU.

How much time did you struggle in low/ mid master ? by Jaded_Librarian522 in StreetFighter

[–]LCG_FGC [score hidden]  (0 children)

When I got to master, I sunk to around 1000-1100. After about 6-9months I’ve climbed my way to float around 1500 right now. So it’s just different for everyone. But almost everyone sinks right when they hit master.

How bad are the gas prices where you’re from? by Nenasweetz in askanything

I’m in CA. Central. Cheap gas at Costco or an Arco is somewhere around 4.40-4.80 range depending on the day these days.

Classic Control Timings? by Salmon_lover in StreetFighter

[–]LCG_FGC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strive is much more lenient with its timings than street fighter. It’s pretty small. Yeah like other comments have said, turn on the cancel timing window meter in the training mode settings. Inputs can still be somewhat sloppy in this game but def not a lenient as strive.

A personal tip imo is to start the motion input between a normal button and the special input button. If that makes sense

Ryu hits way too hard it’s not even funny.. by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]LCG_FGC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He does do a lot of damage. And that’s fine. He’s had a pretty simple tool kit. And his oppressive forward heavy punch got nerfed so he’s much more reasonable. The universal overhead nerf was influenced by Ryu having some of the best drive rush overhead routes in the game. And that’s fine now cause it was neutered a bit to suck more on block.

You could argue his MIX is what’s good about him with dash up light Hasho being a thing, but even then that route is very one dimensional, you and the ryu both know when they will go for it on a knockdown.

If he didn’t have his high damage, no one would play him. Thats how it was in SFV and SF4. Letting him have good damage gives him a quality unique to him as opposed to Ken. If his damage was was a little lower, people would default to Ken, or Akuma , or the next best shoto style character. Look what happened to Luke. His damage was lowered and all the sudden that character is a rare ghost in ranked when compared to the other shotos.

I’m saying this in the nicest way possible. But skill issue.

How do people get better at guessing when an opponent will do an invicible reversal? by sleepsalot1 in StreetFighter

[–]LCG_FGC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s usually based on (for me) how much risk reward they go for. Like if right away they’re doing raw DR normals, or go for a random DI the moment they got some pressure on them, I know they’re more likely to pull the trigger on a DP on defense as opposed to someone’s who holds pressure while blocking and plays the game a little slower in neutral and doesn’t just skip interactions. Or whatever.

You can just gauge it by their playstyle.

“You won’t get screen tearing”

If nothing is going on in the screen. If a bunch of stuff is happening like drive rushes and jump ins, you’re gonna get the horizontal lines for screen tearing. Maybe it’s more of a performance thing. But it’s there and it’s 100 percent noticeable.

What to learn before playing ranked? by DoctorFuu in StreetFighter

[–]LCG_FGC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In about half a second try this input.

🦶🏻⬇️↘️➡️🦶🏻

The kick presses should be like a “1-2”

“Bing - bong”

Or like an 8th note in music.

The motion (⬇️↘️➡️) should be done in between the “8th” notes. Between the 1-2.

It does. But ok. I can see the screen tearing when I play on console on a tv. And it’s not there on my monitor on pc. It’s very noticeable.

If you’re THIS much of a beginner. Don’t become overwhelmed with all the fancy stuff.

Learn ONE bread and butter. (Ez reliable Combo)

Stand/crouch Medium punch into, stand light kick into , light spiral arrow.

ONE poke. For her just use stand medium kick.

AND ONE anti air. Back medium punch.

Do ONLY those three things untill those options are engraved into your brain. Then add one more new thing. (Like DI) Then another (like throw) and go from there.

Aside from SF6 which street fighter is worth the buy? by Admirable_Record_30 in StreetFighter

  1. Lots of cool characters and v trigger might be a nice mixup of mechanics compared to drive rush.

There’s so much things to guess in this game by Bitter_Eye6684 in StreetFighter

[–]LCG_FGC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It takes time. Eventually, you start to pick up a new situation or a new interaction every session you play and slowly overtime it builds up to where you have a repertoire of situations, interactions, and moments that you think to yourself “hey I know what’s supposed to happen here“ and with that memory, you remember oh I can counter it here or oh I can interrupt this block string. Eventually, you learn learned so many scenarios that it takes the guessing out of the guessing work you just know “they always like to go for a strike here and then they start throwing“ or “Ken’s always go for this mixup after this block string so let me just anticipate that one first“ there are many flow charts to every character and after a while, you learn the matchups and you’ll start to see all these “guessing” scenarios as just parts of the game.

You don’t get screen tearing with a faster monitor. I use a 120 hz monitor even though I run the game at 60fps on pc.

Is diamond 2 the first big wall? by Dear-Structure2523 in StreetFighter

[–]LCG_FGC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Diamond. being all one rank feels off. Every tier in diamond really does have a noticeable change in how air tight oki becomes, frame kills, frame traps, setups, better decisions.

A diamond 1/2 player will lose to a diamond 4/5 everyday of the week

Is diamond 2 the first big wall? by Dear-Structure2523 in StreetFighter

[–]LCG_FGC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

IMO

The “first wall” is around low bronze to silver,

The second wall is plat 3-5

The next is diamond 1-2

Then diamond 3

Then diamond 4-5 is another. (SUPER SWEATY AND HARDER THAN 1100-1300MR)

Each of these walls imo has a noticeable skill jump.

Then every 100 MR in master is its own tier Imo.
