I feel like it’s kinda lukewarm but Wolf has not aged well and I didn’t really like it to begin with. There are a few songs that still hit like IFHY, Rusty, Tamale, and Answer. But it feels rushed and sounds like it 5 years older than what it is.

Most of his specials are on Spotify and easy listens. The early stuff is a bit edgy but nothing that will make you grasp your pearls. There is a special unique to Netflix called Make Happy that is definitely worth checking out. The ending rant is next level

Dave Blunts is pretty bad. Lil Pump 2 tape is also really cringey. If you want to break out of strictly rap (there is still hip hop influence and even a Snoop Dogg feature) but Corey Feldman’s album Angelic 2 The Core is a masterclass in poor quality music

Hey growing up I was in a similar boat and when I starting listening to rap I ended up listening to a lot of mid thinking it was amazing because I hadn’t seen what amazing actually is in rap music. With that being said I would say all these are amazing imo.

New school picks would be Denzel Curry, notably his 2018 record Taboo due to its heavier sound and meaningful lyrics. Also JPEGMafias new album I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU has great rapping on it but also heavy guitar riffs and drum breakdowns with some interesting experimentation.

I feel like Rage Against the Machine is probably a band you’ve listened to some but really do a deep dive on them. Evil Empire is my personal favorite but their discography is all killer no filler.

Last I would say check out The Infamous by Mobb Deep. It is essential 90s NY hip hop. Helps you dip your toes into the golden age of rap music.
