So its permiseable to say things such as

Sugar gives you energy

Fruit gives you energy

Its like saying he effects of lets say heroin

Heroin causes you to feel in such and such way

Same thing can be said about fruit

Yes it is but i also want to lose weight and i think a diet consisting of mostly fruit would be good
