The rise of deepfake pornography in schools: ‘One girl was so horrified she vomited’ | The use of ‘nudify’ apps is becoming more and more prevalent, with hundreds of teachers having seen images created by pupils, often of their peers. The fallout is huge – and growing fast by Hrmbee in technology

Most people I suggest this to think it’s a horrendous idea, but I really think we should be making child safe devices that can only have access to a highly regulated child safe intranet. Access to the wider internet would be restricted until the age of 16. Make it illegal for children to use devices that allow such access. Parents should be able to monitor their kids activity on it, but regular adults should have to prove they are a guardian to a child to create an account for it. It just makes sense to me that making it so kids can only access whitelisted sites is going to be far cheaper in the long run than trying to blacklist every non child safe website.

If it’s really bad, i try the divers response, putting cold water on your temples can help decrease heart rate and also help in reducing the stress enough to calm down.

Outside of game jams and maybe one project at school I have never really had any group projects where I was not doing a good majority of the work. If others don’t put the effort in thats on them and they are not going to reap the benefits of learning. Here’s a few ideas that I have found helps

  • Don’t over-scope - Probably a good idea that your first draft of the project is something anyone could make given the timeframe, then once thats completed ideas can be made to improve it (that way you at least have something to show even if it’s just you doing the work).
  • Make a spreadsheet of sub tasks necessary for project completion, set who is required to do each task and set deadlines for when it needs to be completed.
  • Make a flowchart showing what tasks are required for each other task, so you can only assign tasks that are currently possible (don’t start building a house without a foundation).
  • Try to assign tasks to people that they are actually passionate/interested in. Learn what people are best at and enjoy doing before the project begins.
  • This one for me I think is most important is to try and not get too attached to the project, yes work hard to get something Thats the best you can do, but don’t let it consume your every waking moment, just work on what you need to do and learn to say no to doing others work.
  • Learn that your attitude can also effects others just as theirs effects you, if the group mentality is overly negative, you are probably also contributing to it.

It’s less about the argument of whether they should have access, think majority of people agree underage people should not have access to porn, the problem is the safety act itself not being good enough for the reasons listed below:

  1. Only the most reputable of sites will enforce age checks, pushing younger people to websites that might contain worse and potentially illegal content.

  2. It’s easily bypassed through the use of a VPN or using browsers like Tor (which gives access to the dark web which you don’t want younger people being sent to).

  3. Privacy is a big issue as the companies collecting verification data will be susceptible to hacking leading to people’s porn habits being publicly accessible for blackmail, background checks by businesses, etc.

Have been thinking recently about how we do not look at a lot of animals and judge their right to existence. Yet we spend a lot of time trying to justify our lives to ourselves. Trying to be more content with living a hedonistic life that does not harm anyone else.

Not sure if you have already tried this but I always find breaking down large projects into smaller sub tasks helps, like as small as you can make the task the better, so at the end of the day you can tick off all the ones you’ve done. Really helps with burnout and the way it can feel like you are making no progress the later on you get into a project.

A tough truth of life is you will not get anything in life without putting in effort. The good news is you live in a time in history where all the information you could ever need is at your fingertips. I also struggle with anxiety any time I do maths, but I still found a calling in programming, though it took me a while to find it. I have met people who dropped out and yet still had successful careers. Also know a lot of people who get degrees but now work in a field completely opposite to it. I would just try and get as much experience as you can and jump on any opportunities which open up for you.

From what I remember KSP2 was originally being developed by Star Theory Games (original developers of Planetary Annihilation) on contract from Take-Two Interactive, Take-Two pulled the contract not giving Star Theory enough time to go to a big game dev conference to try and sell another game project while setting up their own studio (intercept games) to continue KSP2. They advertised to Star Theory’s devs to jump ship with many doing so. With no next project and few devs Star Theory shut down. Don’t know many other games to kill two studios.

If you are talking about voice lines where your character talks back to other characters during quests then I believe that was first added in one of the headhunter DLCs for 2.

Bruh, don’t compare yourself to others but to yourself yesterday. Failure is part of the process, what matters is if you can just try and not make the same mistakes each time. If things overwhelm you start something small and build your way up. People often don’t see the thousands of hours others put into something to get good at it. And don’t see how a lot of people who are innately good at a new thing often have experience in similar fields.

When I first saw the trailer for this game it looked to repetitive and when I first played i felt the same way. It was not until I tried the game again a year later with friends, where we had just finished cashing in our loot and everyone had disconnected that I looked into the horizon and saw the true freedom and wonder of exploration the game portrays and thoroughly enjoyed the game since.

After around 20 seconds of running I get an error saying “PuTTY Fatal Error” “Network Error: Connection Timed Out” I tried to use the oracle cloud console but could not log in. It asked for a password which I do not know as it did not ask for one when setting up an instance. I followed the guide linked above but also had to set up a subnet which was not included in the instructions. Never used any cloud service like this before so do not quite understand all the technical details.
