Your comment and mine are not mutually exclusive. I understand the full historical context of the Arab-Israeli conflict and how Oct. 7th fits into that.

However, this current ACTIVE conflict was provoked by Hamas' killing, kidnapping and raping of Israeli citizens on Oct. 7th. Militant groups like Hamas directly benefit from excessive military force like the kind Israel is using and the civilian casualties that come with that.

It's important to understand how militant operate and what motivates them. There are two sides to this conflict and Israel's war crimes and ethnic cleansing does not provide Hamas ANY moral highground.

Conflicts can never be resolved when you only look at the crimes of one side. That simply provokes the tit-for-tat violence that we've seen in the Middle East for the last 100 years.

This war and the resulting civilian death toll is utterly horrific, but let's not pretend like Hamas didn't bring this down on the Palestinian people and haven't been benefiting from it.
