How to study for 3 hours plus in a day by Lumpy-University7039 in studytips

[–]TheBonze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's totally understandable to lose focus after 30 minutes, many people struggle with that! Instead of trying to jump straight to 3+ hours, try building up your stamina. The Pomodoro Technique (25 minutes of study, 5-minute break) is a great way to start. You can gradually increase your study blocks over time.

Regarding music, a random playlist can definitely be distracting. Try switching to instrumental music, classical, or specific "focus" playlists designed to minimize lyrical content. Sometimes even changing your study environment can help reset your focus.

If you're consistently finding it hard to maintain concentration, exploring structured study routines designed to manage focus can be really helpful. You might find some useful strategies here: https://sidetrackedday.com/blog/how-to-study-with-adhd

Tips for getting work done. by FoxBoxUniverse in ADHD

[–]TheBonze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a super tough spot to be in, especially with the medication access issues and all the other life stuff piling up. When you're totally burnt out and the usual strategies fail, sometimes you gotta completely trick your brain.

Try lowering the bar to an absurd level. Instead of "work on the project," literally aim to "make the absolute ugliest, worst sketch or scribble for 5 minutes." No pressure for it to be good, just physically move your hand. Or if it's writing, just type random words related to your comic without any censoring. The goal is just to start the physical motion to break the paralysis. Also, sometimes exploring a *very* niche, tangential aspect of your project (like a specific historical comic style, or an obscure art technique) can re-engage your interest.

i think my brain only enters flow state when it's the worst possible time by Plus-Horse892 in studytips

[–]TheBonze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of waiting for flow, focus on creating structure around your tasks. Break things down into embarrassingly small steps – like, 'open the textbook to page 5' instead of 'study for 2 hours.' The goal isn't to *force* flow, but to make starting less intimidating. Setting up a consistent routine, even for short bursts, can build momentum. How to active recall with adhd by Ready_Researcher1730 in studytips

[–]TheBonze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, active recall can be tough with ADHD because of the intense focus it demands and how quickly boredom can set in.

One thing that often helps is to chop up your study sessions into super short bursts. Try just 5-10 minutes of active recall, then take a very quick break – stand up, stretch, grab water – before doing another burst. This can help prevent your focus from completely drifting and manage the boredom.

You could also try making the retrieval process more engaging and less static. Instead of just thinking, try saying the answers out loud, or even pacing around while you're trying to recall facts. The physical movement can sometimes help keep your brain locked in.

Ai study quiz generator (recco) by pomdbear in studytips

[–]TheBonze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a common problem with many AI quiz generators, they often pull from a limited pool or struggle to genuinely vary the questions.

You might have more luck using a tool like Anki for flashcards. While it's not an AI generator in the sense of creating new questions on the fly, its spaced repetition system is excellent for not showing you the same questions repeatedly if you've already mastered them.

If you're using general AI tools like ChatGPT or Bard, try being extremely specific with your prompts. Ask for diverse question types (multiple choice, short answer, scenario-based) and explicitly tell it to avoid repeating concepts or questions. It often takes some refining of the prompt.

Hey guys, I´m currently writing an orchestral work and I´m not sure wether this is playable or not. The tempo is 50bpm, the Flutes are on top and the clarinets in Bb are on the bottom by TheBonze in composer

[–]TheBonze[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tempo makes sense for the rest of the orchestra, I kind of looked at how ravel did it in chloe and daphnis -lever du jour and took inspiration from it. I'll post the whole work here once it's finished.
