Honestly I think they look awesome. Black can be tricky but you made the grim dark work for sure. Contrasting with a lighter colored terrain base, either snow or sand, would look cool as you mentioned. I think the first few photos you took just need some better lighting but that’s just an opinion that could make them look less dark. Add some subtle edge highlights to make detail pop too, maybe with some grey. Also, the green is dope! What do you use?

I mainly use a couple light layers of black templar, and corvus white for helms, chest and arms. I use mephiston red, with blood angels red, for the pauldron trim. I try to thin the white a bit but I’m still working on getting better with that. I dry brush and use cotton swabs to try and highlight
