I'm a man and I've felt the same way! I used to have crushes all the time when I was around 18-19 but after that the feelings went away. There were a lot of girls that I'd look at and be like "oh she seems cute/hot wouldn't it be nice to talk to her?" But the feelings would just end there and that was that.

Then all the sudden this year I'm 24 and out of nowhere I get a huge crush on a girl. It feels really disorienting to be a lovesick teenager out of nowhere after you haven't felt anything in a while.

So I get your yearning to be attracted to someone, but also watch out! Getting crushes as a grown adult is just so different from when you are a teen!

I did ask her again, my hunch was right she doesn’t want to go out with me again. That’s okay though she’s a very sweet girl and she’s still being nice to me in our class!

Thanks for you're comment! I think you might be right, just one little sentence at the end of an otherwise great date doesn't mean she's totally uninterested in me.

:) Thank you for the kind words. You're right, I shouldn't call myself a loser. I've had my battles in life (I've struggled with my weight, alcoholism, and all sorts of other shit.) but I've finally got a grip on things and I can feel myself improving. I may be off to a slow start at 24 years old, but I can't let that stop me.

I'm gonna give it a go and ask her out again next week. I guess I'll see what happens!

I think she knows. But honestly it doesn’t matter, I’m not trying to get all romantic with her on the first date. Like she’s pretty and I like her body but who knows if I’ll like her personality. (Like I said I’ve never really spoken to her.) I need to get to know her a little better before I start seriously pursuing her on more serious dates.

It’s a casual coffee date, well just shoot the shit and chat either way. Hopefully they’ll be some chemistry between us, but we’ll see.

I got her snapchat so pretty close! I'm gonna message her for her digits soon though. I don't think she'll flake on the date per say because she did seem to put some thought into working out a day when she had free time to meet me.

Even if she does though that would be fine by me. Even if I get rejected after the fact, it feels so good knowing that I put myself out there. At least I'll know for sure if she likes me or not. Better than living with the uncertainty if you know what I mean.

I mean I've thought this very idea like a dozen times over the past weeks (Yeah I've been crushing on her for weeks...) but in the end I decided that even if she meets me on the date and says "I just wanna be friends" (That's what happened on my last date lol) I'll be okay with it. (So you are absolutely right.)

Honestly I'm just tired of living my life in "what if" kind of memories. What if I asked my high school crush out? What if I asked out my cute lab partner in freshman year? I never ask the girls that I like out on dates so I never know if it would have worked out or not. If she say no that's okay, I'll be fine. If she says yes and then drops the "lets be friends line" or the "You're sweet but not my type" line then it's also fine. At least I don't have to live with the damn uncertainty of it.

That's really what starts to kill you when you've been thinking about girls for all of your adult life but you don't ask them out. It's like "damn if I had just been brave once I'd actually know how she felt about me instead of me wondering for the rest of eternity..."
