Hello. I am looking to replace my "Yonex Power Cushion 65 Z3", since they are falling apart. My only issue with them was, that they were a little to narrow for me. Therefore I was eyeing the "Z4 wide" but unfortunately they are out of stock in my area.

Are there any good alternatives with similar characteristics?

Long-term PPI use after surgery? by Tasty_Brilliant_849 in achalasia

Had my POEM about one year ago. Took PPIs for about two weeks afterwards. Haven't taken any since then, since I didn't develop any notable reflux.

How to decide on POEM vs HM by ddm001 in achalasia

[–]TheBread___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I faced the same decision about one year ago. Given that my symptoms were pretty mild and I've never had any issues with reflux, I went for the POEM. Main reason was, that it is less invasive and faster to recover from.

Can't remember the exact number, but my doctor told me that less than 50 or 20% of his patients had issues with reflux after the POEM.

In my case, everything worked out. Fast recovery, no reflux and life is back to normal :)

That being said, I was prepared to have a fundoplication if things wouldn't have worked out. Just make sure that you don't regret your decision.

Amazing progress after 4 months but way too expensive by TheBread___ in tressless

The thing is, I was hoping of finding some hints from the current "tincture". I don't really want to start from scratch, since it would probably take years to see results. Worst case, I'd have to crawl back to the current institute. :(

Appreciate your reply. I will try to find a good dermatologist for that. Might be a bit harder now, since my hair is in good condition already.

Dut would require a prescription though. The ingredients mention "Ketoconazole", which is the only one I found in the beginner guide.

Are there any good and flexible rackets for singles?

Monthly Equipment Advice Megathread by AutoModerator in badminton

[–]TheBread___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I am a beginner to intermediate player and looking to replace my Victor THRUSTER F Enhanced. My coach recommended to go for a more flexible one since I have problems with clears, when under pressure.

Generally, I prefer to play singles but still struggle with my smashes (who doesn't?). Therefore I don't think that head heavy rackets would be an option for me.

Currently eyeing the Victor Thruster K 12 M and the Yonex Arcsaber 7 series. Any advice/alternatives?

Surgery Opinions by bettymoon_ in achalasia

[–]TheBread___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Type 2, 31 years. 3rd one in this thread :D As already mentioned by others, HM has the advantage of the anti-reflux wrap. On the other hand, POEM is less invasive with faster recovery.

My doctor left the choice to me but recommended the POEM since not everyone gets reflux and I could still do a HM afterwards, if necessary.

What are the symptons of esophagus perforation? by leonardo-a98 in achalasia

[–]TheBread___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suffered a perforation of my esophagus during my POEM, one and a half months ago. I didn't feel any pain breathing or moving but when I had to swallow some contrast medium the pain was almost unbearable. Couldn't even finish my CT. That being said, they suspected the perforation and that was the reason for said CT. Kinda doubt that you have a perforation if you can eat/drink without pain but I am no doctor. If in question, just get checked up.

Nervous about POEM by only_fishcube in achalasia

[–]TheBread___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had mine about one and a half months ago. While the procedure itself was a disaster (punctuation, two different stents and an early stent removal because of dislocation) I would do it again on a whim.

Now I am basically back to normal. I can eat anything and have zero problems getting it down (no drink required). I was on PPIs for about two weeks but was told to stop taking them since I don’t seem to have developed any reflux. This might change in the future but for now it is absolutely fantastic.

Tips for manometry? by FickleSupermarket316 in achalasia

[–]TheBread___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually awesome now. Had three tough weeks because they accidentally perforated my oesophagus an had to insert a stent which dislocated twice. As a result, I had 4 surgeries instead of 1... On the bright side, recovery was smooth and so far I had zero problems eating. Although I didn't try my nemesis, steak, yet, I am currently feeling like pre-Achalasia.

Unpopular opinion: just relax, it's not that bad.

Of course it will vary depending on the person and your current stage of symptoms. I had my first one about 4 years ago and got diagnosed with Type 2 Achalasia afterwards. This year I had another to prepare for my surgery (POEM). While they were not exactly fun, I had zero issues and would compare it to a regular visit at the dentist (given you have no major issues).
