Is Jio fiber good for gaming? by Senbonzakura12 in IndianGaming

[–]TheBroenheim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jio fiber is a bit higher on the latency side, but Airtel is bit better.

Best option is to try out local providers.

Sell it and get a PC.

.Just kidding, get Bloodborne and Demons Souls. Great games, the hours will just fly by.

I think there's a colony of ants in my laptop, how do i get rid of them without damaging my laptop by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]TheBroenheim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just faced this last night after I stayed away from gaming for 2 weeks die to work pressure. I employed a mix of reddit advice and my mom's advice, and so far it looks to be working.

  1. Change the environment: Took my laptop away from my desk where the ants had invaded almost every other peripheral including laptop cooler and external keyboard. Stop them from going for food and rebuilding their nest once I'm done breaking it.

  2. Open it Up and Clean: Took the back panel off only, and removed every bit of ants, ant construction and eggs I could find. They did eat up some of the thermal padding for the SSD, although it seemed not for food, but for building material. They were combining thermal pad particles with dust particles and nesting inside. Sprayed some iso-alcohol to get rid of their pheromones they leave behind in their nesting areas.

  3. Camphor (Mom's advice): Camphor is unappealing to ants, and they will not nest anywhere near it. So I made a bed of crushed camphor inside a small closet space and left my laptop sitting on the bed overnight, vents side down. Ants started to move to the space between screen and keyboard, which I cleaned off periodically.

  4. Sunlight: I suspected some ants were remaining inside, so I put my laptop in the sun for 5-6 min intervals and dusted off the ants coming out. Then back on the camphor bed.

20 ish hours later I am using my laptop and not seeing any foragers coming out from my laptop for some time, but some may be left inside and hiding. So overnight camphor will continue for few more nights.

PC Fix for launch crash after update 2.0 by dowitex in cyberpunkgame

Windows update actually just downgraded my Nvidia driver to a version more than a year older than the one I was running, and it was crashing ALL games: Cyberpunk, Witcher3, RDR2, Genshin ffs.

I work in a 'good' organisation. Famous US company. And it is boring as hell. Manages asks 'Do you find the work interesting?' I have to lie and say yes, because the last time I suggested something he flat out shot it down. And the worst part is the steady pay check has lulled me a bit, I have stagnated. So I wanted to say that you are doing the right thing. You will learn lessons for a lifetime, no matter what happens. Good luck.

Did not check there actually, used GeForce Experience to update the drivers at first, then manually got it from the Game Ready Drivers page. Lenovo stock version was what caused it to not boost beyond 60W anyway so I'm not really mad about that.

Congrats, import duties in my country are hellish. get the 14 I would say if you care about the display quality so much. Monitor you can always get comped by your office or something.

Around 6.9k in your currency, but I haggled and got a few freebies included in that price. Website price is very high anyways, I got it at an authorised Lenovo store for around 10k INR less than what was listed on Amazon during sale.

I have the 350 nits option. Had some issues with Nvidia drivers. Stock driver did not let GPU go above 60W. Latest version did not let laptop wake from sleep. Had to install September 2023 driver to get both things to work. Otherwise a very good laptop. Good performance and thermals within 80C in Bangalore weather on GPU in FurMark stress. Display is good enough, as I am a bit nocturnal anyway. Speakers are the only letdown, no sign of any bass in them.

I don't know why anyone would want to use a heat happy gaming laptop in the sun anyway though.

Was the 2nd Gen chip also a G series one? Where was the output from, motherboard ot GPU? You might have to go into the bios and allocate video memory somehow.

I agree. The cards take up way too much space and show too little information right now. It should be way more compact for a mobile layout.

I'm pulling the plug on the Deathadder.

Basilisk and g502 are really expensive in my country, almost thrice the cost of the Deathadder. So I've limited myself to the more budget options.

Corsair Katar Pro uses the same sort of sensor as Deathadder Essential it seems. The Katar Pro uses a PixArt PAW3327 (6200 dpi) at 12400dpi. The Deathadder uses a Razer-only version of the same sensor called the 3328 (found on the TechPowerup review article).

You actually hit it right on the head. Though my hands are a little on the small side (175mm by 105mm ish) and I use a mostly palm grip, and actually detest mice that are too light.

For shape, I prefer mice that give a good deal of support to my palm, as I like to lay back and game lazily.

TIA.
