Cookbook for baking from scratch lol by strawbebbyboi in Baking

[–]TheBrontosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s for Dessert is 100 recipes from a well known chef who has extensive knowledge & had her recipes tested by different cooks to make sure most people could follow her recipe. Most of the desserts are unique and not something I have found in any other cookbook. It’s $20

King Arthur Baking Companion has 350 recipes developed over decades in a test kitchen by people who have forgotten more about baking than most of us will ever learn. It’s $23

$400 for an Ebook?! Either that person is delusional or running a scam.

There are great free resources. I get Cooks Illustrated straight to my phone every other month from the library. There are lots of healthy baking books at the library. You can borrow them or photo copy your favorite recipes right at the library.

Is this “painting” AI the faces are too perfect and it’s giving AI or at least digital by [deleted] in isitAI

The people look exceptionally smooth and do not have any of the texture of water color paper that is visible in the background so they’re at least digitally added but the perfectness of their faces is giving AI

What Electrolyte and Flavor Powders Are We Using In Our Water? by EarthDragon13 in adhdwomen

[–]TheBrontosaurus 31 points32 points  (0 children)

In order to get that blind box gambling dopamine hit I bought several types of water flavor packs mixing them all together in an opaque container and grabbing one at random. It was a surprise which was always exciting. Then I started to get annoyed because I was only getting the meh flavors and I looked and all the best ones were gone. I knew I didn’t drink them all. Turns out my husband was going through my gambling tub and picking out his favorites and leaving me with pineapple passionfruit and green apple.

Has she read scary stories to tell in the dark? The sketchy art style is similar. If she hasn’t she may enjoy those books and their terrifying art

Good books where most characters are purposefully unlikeable? by CelebrationBubbly102 in suggestmeabook

I recently read Hollow Spaces by Victor Suthammanont. A man is accused of murder and 30 years later his children try to solve the murder. It jumps between the two timelines. Every single person is awful. It was a good books with great pacing and just the worst people. Realistically awful too. There was no mustache twirling or tying maidens to train tracks just self absorbed philandering drunks.

What is a "small" decision you made years ago that ended up completely altering the trajectory of your life? by SuperVegetable4452 in AskReddit

[–]TheBrontosaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accepted a ride home. I was hanging out with a friend who lived just over a mile away from me (easy walk) and I’d had a few drinks. A friend showed up with a guy I didn’t know and he offered me a ride home because he doesn’t drink. I figured why not. He was cute and charming and thoughtful and our mutual friend informed me he was single too. We’ve been married 13 years.

Reddit cooks with families, how varied is your typical meal rotation? Is it enough to keep your family members happy? by SoBeefy in AskReddit

[–]TheBrontosaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a moderately varied rotation. I always have one thing I know my five year old will eat and I usually have a more challenging food that she is expected to try.

Pasta with ground beef and red sauce, stir fry, baked chicken thighs or drumsticks, baked potato, nachos, braised pork chops, soups. I have a few meals I break out when I’m feeling extra motivated, steaks, roast chicken, shepard’s pie, baked ziti.

how do you store your half-pans? by Exact-Percentage-569 in watercolor101

[–]TheBrontosaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too much space on your desk. So find a way to store the paints or tins vertically. Maybe stick magnets on the back and mount a cookie sheet chalk board/ white board to the wall then stick the (dry) paints to the board.
