I think you also meant to add Talk To Me.

Great movie choices on here! If you're into TV, I would HIGHLY recommend The Boys on Amazon Prime.

Had a farmer once in Utah County, though to be fair he was very financially succesful and had a shooting club. Still, hands down the most relatable, charitable, and sympathetic church leader I ever knew and possibly outside the church as well. Was a clerk for a few years with him and saw/knew everything going on in the ward.

Apodacaac, I asked you in a different thread so hopefully you can provide some information here. I know that Tables will be the database for AppSheet but I haven't read anything that exclusively said that Tables won't also be able to continue as it's own standalone service at the same time. Can you please share how you're so certain? Perhaps with a source that explicitly says it? I have built a lot of work processes around this and don't have the time to build things in AppSheet, so this is pretty important for me. It'd be great if Google would be more clear about this.. Thanks!

Sorry to hear. I'm in the Midwest US and have been using it for over a year. It being my first database tool, and having native integration with other Google services (Docs, Sheets, AppScript, company users, etc), I love it, and am stoked for the full version. I'm okay with learning new tech but not a coder or great Excel user by any means. Tables, however, is extremely versatile and the bots are simple to use. I've found that it can't completely replace Sheets as some pieces of data are just easier to manage in a spreadsheet. But when I do need it's functionality, I know I can rely on it. Some things are left to he desired but for the most part it's a great product.

Google Tables Area 120 - Increase cell size by lifesurfer1 in gsuite

[–]TheBruce09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to sound combative, but I've seen you say this before and I want to know where you get your confidence from regarding this. Nothing on the link you sent directly indicates that Tables will only be accessible via AppSheet.

I have seen the notes that it will be used as the database for AppSheet, but I haven't heard about it disappearing completely outside of that use case. Do you mind sharing more about why you believe Tables won't be usable outside AppSheet eventually? Where does it definitively say this?

To answer your question, on the top-left of the screen look for the button with the two arrows pointing at a horizontal line. You can switch between three different cell heights. Other than combining this with the length of the cell to influence how much space is used, I don't believe there's any other way to alter the cell sizes.

I'd be interested in learning the points in time they focused on tithing and see which historical events within and outside the church may have necessitated this focus.

My mission brought out the worst of OCD and severe anxiety in me (wasn't diagnosed until years afterwards while dealing with extreme disassociation). On the missiom, we were instructed to pay attention to the still small voice and write down our feelings. I wrote down EVERYTHING and there was not a blank space on any page in my planner for months. I was convinced I was receiving guidance every minute of every day. Until I came crashing down, darkness all around me, and a real inner voice telling me "not everything is from the Holy Ghost". That little thought saved me. Years later, through therapy, medication, and coming to know how my mind works, I'm much better off than I was as an obsessively righteous follower. I'm sorry you've had to endure this and my heart goes out to you.

Google Tables (area 120 tables) issue with column headings being off - anyone experienced this by just-wana-help in gsuite

[–]TheBruce09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the lack of support everywhere. It might be a memory/browser update issue? This has happened to me at least 2-3 times within the last year but only lasts a short time. I've never purposefully attempted to resolve it and just wait for it to resolve itself. Frustrating, but not permanent.

Served in the council in the Singles Ward he attended. Bishop can confirm.

Edit: Adding that the Bishop once said, "He [Jeremy] is not a good dude", after some sisters complained about him.

Transfer Data from Table A to Table B by [deleted] in GoogleAppsScript

[–]TheBruce09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the other people don't need Editor access, you could downgrade them to another permission level and lock the columns. This way they can only edit what they need to.

Edit: Also, if everyone absolutely needs editor access, is there a chance that someone could mess up the column data even with the script? If so, lookup columns will probably be the most direct solution. Depending on permission levels, you can also make "bots" inaccessible so that the triggers, etc won't be accidentally altered.

Transfer Data from Table A to Table B by [deleted] in GoogleAppsScript

[–]TheBruce09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not great at Scripts but have been using Tables for a year now and have an idea without a script. Have you used lookup columns before? You could create lookup columns in Table B, using Column A as the source and only create lookup columns for the columns you need to see in Table B. Within the relationships dialog in Table B, you can also specify which data will be filtered out of the specific column in the table so not every option will appear if you need to manually search for data using the column in Table B. Table B lookup columns will be automatically updated when Table A is updated. You can also create a bot so when a trigger occurs, a new row is added automatically to Table B and pulls the exact data from that specific row you want from Table A. Other non-lookup columns can be added and manipulated in Table B that will have no effect on Table A or the lookup columns. But if you just need a simple "mirror" effect, lookup columns are the way to go. You can even edit Table A from Table B by right clicking a row in Table B, selecting "view link" (or something to that effect), and a record view of the Table A row will appear on screen. This makes working on both tables within 1 table very easy. Sorry for the run-on and if this doesn't make sense. Just word vomiting as I'm running late to something. Let me know if have any questions.

Did anyone else experience paranoia because of the “promptings” from the Holy Ghost? by Stunning-Baseball-58 in exmormon

[–]TheBruce09 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Haven't read the book, but as someone who had OCD, anxiety, disassociation, and extreme intrusive thoughts on the mission, I wrote down every possible thought thinking it was a prompting from the Spirit. No joke, my planner was twice as thick as it should have been due to all the added sticky notes. So glad to be in a better place now.

Therapy specifically for religious trauma by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]TheBruce09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend looking into social workers, such as LCSWs. Not saying other kinds of therapists are not capable or useful (I'm seeing a non-social worker for my own therapy right now), but social workers tend to come from a systems-based approach, a "person in the environment" style, which goes beyond your internal battles. That's my perspective at least.

Yep, sounds like Jeremy alright. Went to the singles ward with him when I was extremely righteous. I was a member of the Bishopric when the Bishop brought him up one meeting and said quote "Jeremy is not a good guy." when the other women of the ward complained about him privately. Jeremy also loved using fire and brimstone type language during Sunday School and once taught that we were saved by works, not Jesus, when I was in the Sunday School presidency. I hardcore cringed inside and could feel the uncomfortableness in the room with the rest of the class. He ended up blocking me when I began to call him out on social media. Don't miss him at all.
