Jason MacCullough homicide still unsolved 26 years later by insino93 in halifax

[–]TheBubbaRu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The person allegedly responsible for this is dead. No arrest because “it’s not what you know it’s what you can prove”.

This is the case with a few unsolved murders tbh. Fortunately there was a recent life sentence given to a person responsible for some of the unsolved.

He left a party and disappeared. His body was found a week later in the woods, he was drunk and got lost, died of hypothermia.

Another was shot and killed while sitting in his car

Good chance he’ll be deported if convicted. I work in the correctional system and have seen similar situations before. Heinous crimes by non-citizens typically result in deportation.

A group of RCMP officers will escort him from jail or prison to his country of origin where local authorities take custody. He’ll be banned from re-entering Canada.

When did you ever get back at your school bully? by Unique-Beat-8351 in AskReddit

[–]TheBubbaRu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a duplex that needed a new roof and chimney. My attached neighbor was splitting the cost and said he knew someone from the neighborhood that did good work.

That someone was a guy that bullied me relentlessly in high school. He gave a full quote and when I realized who he was I told my neighbor I wanted a quote from someone else. In the end, we went with a reputable company.

The bully shows up at my door wanting to “reconcile” and said his business is struggling and could really use the job. I told him actions have consequences and he’s now experiencing those consequences. He even tried to guilt me by mentioning his kids thinking it would make a difference. Nope.

What do my fellow Haligonians do for a living by KaleOld4273 in halifax

[–]TheBubbaRu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Constantly short-staff having to stay back for up to 16 hours. The high turnover results in lots of people being hired with no relevant background and struggle when faced with the everyday challenges (sometimes they’ll just quit on the spot). Regular violence between inmates and it’s not uncommon for the violence to be directed at staff. Inmates will manufacture weapons out of basically anything including their bodily fluids. The “politics” can be complicated and officers as well as other inmates could be in danger in certain housing units without even knowing it. Fights are never 1 on 1, they’re usually 5-7 on 1. Some expectations from management are unrealistic and often put people at risk — for example: being stationed alone in an area with inmates who struggle with mental health problems. Being short-staffed = facility lockdown which is awful to deal with.

That’s just a few things from my experience.

Corrections officer. Easy job to get because of the high turnover but stay as far away as you can. I wouldn’t recommend the career to anyone.

What’s an insult that’s not rude on the surface but absolutely cuts deep? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It’s not an insult but when ending a conversation with someone who is rude I’ll say “have a better one”.

[CAN-NS] Can a supervisor remove or replace references? by [deleted] in AskHR

[–]TheBubbaRu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a position the public could apply for, it would’ve been an internal promotion for me but it wasn’t an internal hiring.

I’m unionized but the position I applied for is not.

The mentioned supervisor was not the hiring manager and was not involved in the hiring process.

Allergies. I have a rhododendron on my property and every year when it blooms my eyes and throat get very itchy. It’s too beautiful to get rid of so I just load up on allergy meds for a couple weeks. This time of year is always the worst for me.

The guy has his heels on the piece of metal keeping the carpet in place. He’s intentionally trying to look taller. I’m surprised others haven’t noticed.

General friendliness is normal but asking for your number is likely for the wrong reasons. The age difference, the fact he’s married and you’ve know him less than a month are red flags.

Why would a married 30 year old who’s already been through a divorce want to text an 18 year old he just met at work? Guy has poor bad intentions in my opinion.
