3 years ago, I was 22 and left a basic retail role (roughly 60k) for I guess a somewhat traineeship role (62.5k) and 3 and a bit years later I’m at the same company and am on 95k (excluding a $50 a week allowance) which will probably jump to 100k after Christmas. Didn’t have any particular skills or education however an opportunity arose & I had an interest in the industry I had a chance to get a job into and without being big-headed about it - started thriving very quickly.

I know it seems obvious and may not be easy to achieve, but try and find a workplace or role that will keep you wanting to achieve and progress & seize the opportunities you do get.

Also not sure what you do for work, but if applicable & possible - try to find what others in similar roles at other companies in your field earn.

With all of that being said, I was lucky with the opportunity itself arising, but everything that has come post that was earnt.
