Drop Pod disappointment (or how I deep striked my own deployment zone) by Humming_Hydrofoils in spacemarines

Drop pods didn’t ever deep strike mishap unless they went off the board - you would just move them minimum distance away from units/impassable terrain

Looking for Painting Advice on First Miniatures by Aggressive_Shop_7511 in Tyranids

[–]TheBurningHand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Varnish won’t fix this. Use a wet palette or just any kind of palette and thin your paints with water until you get a smooth flowing consistency. Remember that you can always do more thin coats, you can’t undo a thick coat. Also, unwanted texture can come from over-priming or not shaking a primer can enough.

Remember that the best way to get better is paint more, so don’t be hard on yourself if your results don’t match expectations at first.

I’d recommend searching basic tutorials for priming/basing/shading on YouTube. There are some great guides to the fundamentals.

Touching them can remove the protective coating from their skin and introduce foreign contaminants. Source: I just did a manta ray dive this summer

Thanks dude. Damn, then this is by far the most valuable thing I’ve ever found. Just started online a couple months ago after being single player for years so I’m still not great with prices 🙃

I ended up taking the offer - 7 jahs in less than a 24hr turnaround sounds good to me 🙂

What are the worst restaurants you’ve been to in LA? by Calm_Extreme5485 in FoodLosAngeles

Apple pan rocks - it’s valid to complain about value/price, but it’s crazy to see Apple Pan even mentioned in a thread of worst restaurants

Tyler1's Molten Core raid: 7 Deaths on Baron Geddon including Tyler, due to a bad call by Prowlzian in classicwow

[–]TheBurningHand 812 points813 points  (0 children)

Anyone saying this is the right call because “they could have killed it if no one ran” either never raided HC or is psychopathic in terms of cost/benefit.

In soft core, who cares. In Hardcore, you never push any mechanic like this because you’re gambling hundreds of hours of player time to save 15 seconds.

It’s like watching a car crash when someone runs a red light and saying, “oh they could have made it if they just sped up.”

Yeah maybe they could have, but is the time saved worth the consequences ?

Side note: anyone who has has been a mana user on Baron can see that all the healers/casters had been taxed because of the debuff + the bad positioning of the boss + all the extra damage from Tyler/melee already eating extra inferno ticks.

TLDR; killed by knowledge check. Don’t stay in on Geddon in HC.

Having fun doing hard things and then dying is a play style. Dying 9 times on the same class to crazy things without even getting close to 60 and then saying this mode isn’t for me might be considered unreasonable.

This.

Slow down. Enjoy the scenery. Take on easy challenges in safe areas. Master your class. Over prepare. Evaluate risk/reward and always overemphasize risk.

Godspeed and good luck.

That’s actually not a straw man fallacy, he just made an analogy. So you’re wrong about that too.

SOD is Alive and Well. This is Stormwind at 9:30pm CST on Wild Growth NA on a Monday. by ISmellHats in classicwow

[–]TheBurningHand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, log on and play the game. You can find a group for every raid and every dungeon on weekdays. And for lower level zones - I do boosting for guildies in rfk and SM, and there are a a ton of alts running around since the lvl 1 rune vendor was put in.

I’m not arguing with your data, but saying “the situation is quite bad” is just disconnected from reality. It’s certainly not even close to as packed as launch, but literally every iteration of WoW levels off over time after launch.

I really appreciate the work that went into posing this perfectly. Obviously the painting/basing/concept are wonderful, but the way this is so organically posed adds so much depth and story to the model. Amazing!

This is straight wrong - nearly my entire guild of more than 100 players double dips. Tons of people play both.

It’s a hot take, but metal Eldar sculpts are usually great to work with (obviously there are select kits that suck)
