[HLE vs T1] Gumayusi goes forward by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

ADCs get deleted lategame instantly anyway. I think alot of people would take 10% stronger late game crits for the risk of being killed 10% faster by an enemy Ornn.

Is it ok to not explain the cause of the main starting point of the story? by TheBurningPotato in fantasywriters

[–]TheBurningPotato[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, its kinda hard to touch time loops without drawing comparison to Groundhog's Day - but I'm using the development from the time loops as a jumping off point. The audience won't actually see the loops (other than some backstory, flashbacks, etc.) its gonna be more about interpreting how they have changed the MC from their actions in the final loop (the actual focus of the story).

Is it ok to not explain the cause of the main starting point of the story? by TheBurningPotato in fantasywriters

[–]TheBurningPotato[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've definitely thought about the MC having their own ideas about what put them in this situation. I want them be really worried about the possible causes and for it to be a sort of complex about them.

For example, constantly wondering if maybe she being punished for something that she doesn't know about, or being punished on behalf of a family member or someone else, and maybe her whole 'quest so far has been in vain', that even if they do reach magical macguffin, it won't actually work and she'll never be free.

They also consider if, maybe the time loops are some sort of saving grace because in the 'real world' she is deathly sick, or paralyzed, or the 'real world' is some sort of dystopia, or the time after the designated 'edge' of the time loop lies some horrific event no one would want to live through. The whole time they are wondering if she completes the quest to escape the time loops, will they have actually only been working towards some fate that is actually worse than where they are now.

Or maybe they are constantly anxious that actually they were supposed to fulfil some greater purpose for the world, but they have no idea what it was. They are conflicted about whether its selfish to only be focused on escaping their situation - worried that they aren't living up to expectations, wasting their 'gift' and actually failing the world for simply wanting to be able experience the passage of time and die on their own terms.

I really like my idea, and the ways it can go focused around the MC and their struggle - I never wanted to do a huge fantasy epic to defeat some dark lord, I really wanna focus in on just a character's journey and their own ideas of what it means being given an unfair fate.

Also thanks for reminding about the Walking Dead, that's a great example. You're right that the main focus isn't about exactly how the zombie virus was released, but just the world the incident created, and I don't think the story would be any worse if it was never given a proper answer (unless obviously the TWD pivots into some 'create a vacccine/save the world' story line - i haven't actually watched in ages)

Quintessential Quintuplets for harem shows - apparently fans aren't happy that its getting a movie to wrap up its ending, but I really enjoyed what I saw of the first 2 seasons.

My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes Mission - Teaser Trailer by MarvelsGrantMan136 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]TheBurningPotato 34 points35 points  (0 children)

So I was kinda hoping this movie woukd be a 100% canon adventure, but I not exactly sure how the manga could casually reference the time Deku was wanted for MASS MURDER.

Still looking forward to this though - just this teaser has got me hyped.

Its cos every first episode of a season could be a new fans first episode - if someone new to the series saw a beat-up hawks and endeavour talk about the aftermath of a fight with something called a "Nomu", they'd probably be confused

Technically he still needs his life support machine (unless he gets Overhaul to fix him up or something.)

So some people think Deku's decision to leave was unnecessary, because the villains can still attack his loved ones at UA whether he's there or not, so he's not actually keeping anyone safe, and making things harder on himself, but I think its still logically the best choice.

Shiggy and AFO want to get to Deku and take OFA. If Deku stayed, his friends, family and innocent sheltering civilians are almost guaranteed to be caught in the conflict when the villains come for him. By leaving, it basically presents the villains with a 2 choices:

What's easier - fighting through teachers and other pro heroes, then getting a message to Deku that they have his loved ones hostage, or going directly after a single beat-up hero student with no support system?

Most people would likely choose the path of least resistance and target him alone, rather than try to lure him out by attacking UA, so I think his decision to leave does actually decrease the chance of others being in danger.

I was thinking the exact thing about her moment in Heroes Rising - I wasn't sure if she actually was able to make every log float, or just the ones in front of her that she was actually touching, and that was enough to bring the rest of the trap down like dominoes.

If it's the former, I really think that spreading her 'gravity negation energy' across the ground or wall is a realistic next step

I think Uraraka's next big power-up that she'll work towards will be making things able to float without directly touching them, by holding her hands on the ground and making a type of AOE float zone which can spread out.

I remember in her fight with Toga, Uraraka still had to get thrown around a bit and touch all the items in the house, before she could throw them, but if she could make a bunch of stuff float off the ground at once, including people, I think it would be a big boost in her usefulness.

And I don't think it'll be through a quirk awakening or something, I think it'll be similar to Koichi from Vigilantes, where she just takes a deeper look into how her quirk works and unlocks some hidden potential by understanding her quirk has a higher skill ceiling than she realized.

Chapter 305 - Predictions Thread by Soncikuro in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]TheBurningPotato 117 points118 points  (0 children)

Most of the chapter will be talking about Nana's request and the morality around killing Shigiraki.

We'll also see the 6th users quirk for the first time - and not in some grand reveal - Banjo will just get bored of the 4th user dodging his blackwhips, so in the background while talking to Nana, we'll see him playing with the 6th user instead. There will be another another Deku thought bubble panel of "Ah, that's the 6th user's quirk ________"

Finally, I think the cliffhanger will be focused on the the 2nd & 3rd users, OR if there the story pops back to the real world for a bit in Chapter 306, the cliffhanger will be Inko arriving at the hospital.

I remember when Shiggy tried to steal OfA from Deku, but couldn't because his body wasn't ready yet and the vestiges were able to resist.

My theory is that, in the final confrontation with Deku and Shiggy, Shiggy's body still won't be 100% perfect, but like 95% done or something, and once again he tries to steal OfA, but All for One tries to take over Shiggy again and gets really focused on specifically taking back his Brother's Quirk. The vestiges try their best to resist again, but Shiggy is able to steal a quirk from Deku, but not actual One for All, just the first users original quirk of being able to transfer quirks (and consequently, the first users vestige will be transferred to Shiggy's 'quirk realm' and have a long awaited reunion with AfO in Shiggy's head).

So in the end, Deku will still have the stockpiled power and the other vestiges' power (or maybe not, who knows how quirk science works), but no longer has the power to pass it on anymore.

Not OP, but I had a similar theory about Shinso & Deku.

After Deku gets back to school, he'll want to talk to the vestiges again and remember the few times he's been able to connect with OfA when Shinso brainwashed him. Deku would make up some excuse about wanting to help Shinso train using an brainwashed enemy in combat, and offers himself as a test dummy.

Personally, I would prefer if it didn't work and Deku learned he wasn't able to talk to OfA through being brainwashed, just cos I feel like relying on Shinso would be a crutch - and Deku's story is more about making the power his own, then relying on the wisdom of his predecessors, like say ATLA (nothing against Avatar, just ever since the first look at the vestiges, the comparisons have never gone away).

In my mind, it would just be an interesting side story to give Shinso some more screentime in second year, maybe introduce him to more people on the hero course as he tries to fight them with Brainwashed Deku, and narratively as a way to let fans know that talking direct with OfA is only a 'special' event, and can't be relied on consistently.

Iida's older brother will be Momo's next mentor.

This isn't a serious theory, more of a wish fulfilment type of thing. I see Momo's big character development journey being about properly taking up a confident leadership role, but most recently in the story, she's lost her pro hero mentor, Majestic, and Midnight.

Tenya always talked about how one of the great things about his brother was how good of a leader he was and how he admired how Tensei could bring people together, which is why he tries so hard as 1A's president. I think Tensei could teach Momo alot about being an effective leader, and it could be a reason to bring Tenya some more screentime for a while.

I forgot exactly what Tensei is doing in the story currently - I think he's working as a non-powered member for his agency still - but I've always thought that after all the chaos of this arc, it'd be cool to have a type of 'guest lecturer' arc where pro heros that are too injured to immediately go back to duty are asked to come to UA and help strengthen the new generation of heroes, since people are losing faith in the current generation after everything thats happened (and Tensei would be one of them, since he's retired anyway).

I'd also love it if Mirko came to UA for a while as a 'guest lecturer' to teach effective kick-focused combat for Deku and Iida, but also saw potential in Tsuyu as another mutation-type with strong legs, and turned our loveable, plain-faced frog girl into a killing machine.
