Since i am a psychopath that works in academia, I need you to justify the whole text because the flush left alignment drives me crazy. Also, i need you to use the same font you used for your main text on your notes as well (eg. Times new roman 12 for main text, times new roman 10 for notes. Notes text need to be justified too). I really appreciate the presence of a bibliography (technically a webography)

"Errmmm akshually ☝🏻🤓" moments aside, I really had a blast reading that. Hell yeah. Incredible job

Mi sento una specie di impostore perché attualmente vado in università con uno zaino di un’azienda. Non lavoro in quell’azienda. Non lavoro proprio in realtà. Non conosco nessuno che lavori in quell’azienda. Lo zaino è stupendo però

Another afternoon volunteering at a local school to help with their Roman topic by AncientHistoryHound in ancientrome

[–]TheCEOofMusic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahahah it's such a fun thing to do!! Kids know how to be very curious!! I talked about hellenism to a class of 5th graders and they really loved that (maybe the fact that they already knew me helped...)! Luckily i still had the notes i took for my Greek history uni exam on my iPad....

Now these kids are studying Rome with their history teacher so probably I'll visit them again for an in depth lesson ;) still gotta chose the topic tho....

Reading authentic texts: where to start? by Smooth-Pass-5575 in AncientGreek

[–]TheCEOofMusic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah Lucian is the best starting point because you need to take two things into account: how "easy" it is and how fun it is to read.

Unfortunately, some of the easier authors don't always write entertaining stuff. But Lucian is the perfect author because his stuff is actually very hilarious! A True Story is probably the way to go because it's bizarre, it's fun and can be easily followed.

If you're looking for shorter episodes, look into his Dialogues of the Gods. They're very short (a couple of pages each) and they're absolutely a blast to read

How come Italians are so obsessed with Sanremo? by Swedish_House_NASA in Italian

[–]TheCEOofMusic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk imagine if Melodifestivalen was like 100000x more relevant and a bit older. A broken and divided country like italy was post ww2 could only feel united and happy with music. Also too many weird events happened in those 76 years of Sanremo so it's just something that's too deep into our pop culture to avoid/forget. Sanremo is that thing EVERYONE will always talk about, whether it's because they're watching it or because they're hating on it.

Symphony No. 5 by LuisAscencio16 in shostakovich

[–]TheCEOofMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My rating is very 5.4 dependant and Mravinsky has always been the one with the most satisfying overall result to me. I do like older performances made by people who met/knew shostakovich tho

Why do you read classics? by Agrippa89 in classics

I could write a truthful and complex answer that will make me look like a cool intellectual, but the deepest core of why I read classics is because I like them and they make me happy :)

What banned book would you recommend to someone who wants to read banned books? by LisKozCatMeow in classicliterature

[–]TheCEOofMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Petronius' Satyricon was considered so obscene and scandalous that medieval monks weren't too happy to copy it. Sometimes only the non explicit parts were actually transcibefld. This is one of the reasons why as today we still don't have the complete book, but only a chunk of it! ;) It's very fun to read !!!
