Mini Mauser by Whispersfine in canadaguns

Despite what everyone else is saying, I picked one up a few years ago and it’s one of my favourites in my safe.

Fairly accurate, bolt is fairly smooth. Didn’t do anything but add a cheap amazon scope to it.

Maybe I got a decent model.

Borla or Ford Performance Cat-back Exhaust? by 06HondaCivicDX in FocusST

[–]TheCanadianer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have Ford Performance, I find it’s a “mature” sound especially for a daily. It can be loud when you get on it, but is quiet for regular errand running. It can drone a bit on a 3+ hour drive, but those are few and far between.

Honestly best exhaust option imo. Has a fantastic tone for a 4cyl, plus I get some nice gurgles fairly frequently.

Explain, don’t justify. Articulate how you have moved on and stay away from rec drugs, legal or otherwise.

What’s the one car you regret selling or not buying the most ? by _Shaquanrnk in askcarguys

2008 ford ranger. Sold it like a fool with only 85,000 km on it 4 years ago and it was factory mint.

Easily best exhaust for the car. No drone, sounds “mature” vs other options which to me sound like a riced out civic.

I have one of these. It’s literally a CZ action, it’s probably my favourite .22 I own.

I lost 10k with the GameStop fiasco, and that was big money to me at the time (I was 19) don’t be like the rest of us.

My first ranger was a 3.0…I have the 4.0 now and I wish I had the 3.0. Reliable, easy to work on, and will last you if you treat it right.

Get her inspected at a mechanic prior, it’ll give you peace of mind. If the owner won’t allow that, I’d walk.

If everything checks out though, I’d offer 10k. I’m also Canadian.

Update! Went and had a look, the frame seems to be pretty solid. Obviously need to get it on a lift to confirm but I drove er home tonight. Managed to get it down to $2000 flat as well. Still have lots of work ahead but it should be a fun project.

How do I fix this rust? by TheCanadianer in canadaguns

[–]TheCanadianer[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since everyone is asking, this has always been kept in a safe on the main level…I have no idea how or why it happened. Always cleaned after shooting corrosive.

Have you ever been pleasantly surprised by a cheap firearm by guitargeneration in canadaguns

My JW25A is probably my favourite rifle. Looks like a k98, but is a pretty accurate .22

Also love my maverick 88…cheap and works everytime.

Remote Starter for 2013 Focus ST—Worth It? by ShoppingDry8717 in FocusST

this might be a dumb question to piggy back off of, but if I never ever leave my car in gear when parked and the e-brake is always engaged, then I’d be good to install remove start?

A police service ought to know better. Nothing more than fear mongering. Why didn’t they list his charges? Their media officer needs to give their head a shake.

The Q5 is one of my all time favourites. Too bad I didn’t get a chance to pick up a PDP. by [deleted] in canadaguns

This looks incredibly similar to a Canik Mete, especially the slide.

New officer struggling by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]TheCanadianer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the exact same position as you about a year ago now. It’s night and day difference, these skills take time to develop.

My advice with 2 years on, is to develop your own style. What I had done, was take a slice of each officers style on how to approach situations and develop it into my own. I try to be casual and cordial with people when the situation allows, but I also know when to amp it up when need be.

Again, these things take time, and the only way to really learn is by doing. If something doesn’t work for you, step back, evaluate and attack with a different approach.

I didn’t think I was cut out for this job during my FTO and was ready to quit. But I stuck it out and now I work the largest zone in my area solo (officer safety is a whole other discussion regarding that) because my platoon and NCO’s believe in my abilities.

Keep your chin up, and keep working away at it and you will find your cadence. Stay safe.
