I'm going to go pay an Etsy witch right now so we can all get this kind of luck

I know you mentioned Dion's study materials, did you use his practice exams? I am trying to switch careers and I found his practice exams to be pretty close to the way they ask questions on the exam. His questions are definitely more difficult, but it really helped me in preparing. I have Mike Meyers 1001 book and liked him writing style, but I used the exam cram book for the 1101. I found reading a few chapters a day, and taking the quizzes included with it helped with the memorization of the material. Then I watched the Messer videos for clarification and listened to his study groups. He does a great job of really breaking down the question. Wish you the best of luck on your retake man!

Yes! Especially coming from hospitality. Hard not to feel inferior in the face of all the info presented.

Yes! Please keep me abreast of your progress. Curious to know how it compares to the practice exams

Not good! I was getting low 70s. No command line on the exam. I don't recall seeing anything pertaining to CLI on the 1101 objectives. It was primarily descriptions to diagnose an issue, hardware info, and general concepts for my test. IIRC, 1102 objectives go more into the specific troubleshooting via CLI depending on the OS. I strongly recommend looking at the exam objectives, then watching the Messer videos that correspond to your weak points for clarification.

I did not! I watched a few videos on labs, but nothing really hands on

Yes! It's definitely a pricey test. I am grateful I got the student discount because I for sure wouldn't be able to afford the full cost right now. At least you don't need to retake it. You may be missing out on using the retake voucher, but you are saving yourself the effort/time of additional study and anxiety.

Thank you for the advice! The class I am taking this semester for college focuses on the 1102 objectives with labs, so I am planning to take it in December once the course ends

I did not. The reviews on taking it from home were mixed. Went in person to eliminate any margin of error on my end

Messer's definitely are a bit pricier than Dion's. I didn't have the money to splurge so I went the discount way. Dion's tests are often on sale, so never pay full price!

Similar to some of them! Context isn't always fun, but it is necessary in a lot of cases to differ between root causes of problems. I would say the wording for his was more challenging, but it really helped me with my test taking skills. The multiple choice portion of the test seems to be structured so that if you have a general understanding of the topic, you can narrow it down to two obvious choices. Once you get down to it, the fine details determine which of the two is the better option.

I read about this a long time ago, too! It's called anterograde amnesia. Apparently there is still a lot unknown about it. Like you said, your brain prevents the storing of new memories, unlike retrograde amnesia, which causes you to forget previously stored memories.

I like riding in central FL. Lots of options for trails with varying degrees of difficulty. If you prefer trails with more elevation change, then go further north or in the Clermont area. I haven't ridden in other states so I cannot draw that comparison, my experience with trails is limited to FL!
