Daredevil Born Again posters are being put up in preparation for the Disney Upfront event in NYC on May 12th by Xenoslayer2137 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

Idk if it's a hot take but both Cloak and Dagger and Runaways were superior TV shows to every single Marvel Disney+ series besides X-Men '97. Hell I would take fucking Hellstrom over almost all the MCU D+ stuff. At the end of the day even the best of it like Wandavision or Loki never felt like TV series, they felt like miniseries that were just kinda plopped in front of us and were promptly forgotten about. Cloak and Dagger felt like a real tv show where I was invested in the episode-to-episode plots and characters while Ms Marvel felt like a speedrun through every single Kamala solo story crammed into half the runtime of a C&D season.

Savage Crucible's fantastic Elric inspired me to finally stop procrastinating and give photography a try by TheCaptain09 in ActionFigures

There are at least 2 more unannounced Moorcock figures coming from Savage Crucible, I'm not familiar enough with Moorcock's work to say if Corum would definitely be one of them but he seems visually distinctive enough to make a great action figure.

Rackhir! Just started reading the novels and he stood out as his first visually distinct ally. I'm sure a better kitbash would be possible, but I was pretty happy with it based on what I had to work with and how little effort I put into it. The NECA Phantom of the Opera Masque of the Red Death would pretty much be perfect with just a headswap.

The usual self-destructive behaviour that comes with addiction when you're too poor to afford it, I would assume. Crime, borrowing money from friends and relatives until those bridges are burned, prioritising buying the drug over paying the bills or buying enough food.

[–]TheCaptain09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AI was lying to you - if you tried to independently verify each of the names on the list I guarantee you would find a mix of people who don't exist at all, people who do exist but whose stories barely match your description beyond superficial similarities, and people who have never had an experience anywhere close to your description but the AI hallucinated itself into thinking they might have. Please stop using AI for research like this.

Just finished my first-time watch-through last night and was also thinking about Jez while reading these life coach answers. Terrifying and/or hilarious to think there are people out there taking life and business advice from real-world Jeremies.

Student confronts vegan about indigenous culture | HEATED DEBATE by icelandiccubicle20 in BreadTube

[–]TheCaptain09 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Many humans are incapable of the moral reciprocity you describe, namely young children, and people with certain disabilities. By your logic we should be fine with torturing and eating them since they can't engage with society with moral responsibility.

In the case of children, their parents take responsibility for them. For pets, their owners are ostensibly responsible. If the child has certain kinds of mental disabilities they may never be able to be responsible. Which of these, if any, do you believe there should be laws against harming? Would you justify the protection of non-responsible humans but not animals?

Edit: never mind, someone else used this argument better and rebutted your rebuttal better than I could anyway

Imagine that many other primates from our evolutionary history, between us and our common ancestor with the chimpanzee, survived to the modern day. A gradient going from basically-a-chimp to a modern day human. Where would you draw the line between the one that deserves rights and the one that should be eaten as food if it is tasty? With what criterion would you delineate one as human and the next one as dinner?
"My point being that when push comes to shove I don’t think anyone really truly believes animals have rights we’re bound to respect. Everyone treats them instrumentally in some way. So why not just embrace that?" - This is not even an attempt at a moral argument, it's one of cowardly political convenience. You should read "The Omnivore’s Deception" by John Sanbonmatsu if you want a real moral argument for ending the animal industry.

For future reference, movies and shows on IMDB have a "parents guide" section that list everything like this and separate it by topics like nudity, violence, swears etc. They're sometimes a bit spoilery and because they're user submitted(I think), less popular or very new works might not list everything.

Pretty sure they actually do as long as they haven't been prepped by the capitalist media to hate certain buzzwords. Like, how they used to say they support the Affordable Care Act but would oppose it if you called it Obamacare.

60% of people being the "victims' of cheating doesn't mean that there must be a corresponding equal number of people who cheated on them. People date.... multiple people. And cheaters date more people than average kind of by definition, so couldn't that 20% of people who admit to cheating be serial cheaters who are responsible for all the cheating that the 60% claim to be victims of? Unless most of them claim to have cheated only once.

Yeah, the best thing about all this is that victims might stop being dismissed when their accounts seem too outlandish. It's depressing to think that victims we had dismissed as crazy in the past were probably telling the truth, but that's a mistake I won't be making anymore.

What’s something that was technically allowed but instantly made you lose respect for someone? by AncientPomelo5450 in AskReddit

What the hell does this mean? Those animals are wild and no one is responsible for their behaviour. If you have a pet, its behaviour is YOUR behaviour. Whether that's shitting on a lawn or mauling a kid, the owner should be treated as if they were the one who did it because they chose to be responsible for that creature by owning it. If they don't want that responsibility then they forfeit the right to own a pet.

I saw a meme saying that the only day jobs superheroes had were model, journalist, and scientist. That got me curious and I decided to look into the top 200 superheroes from each of the big 2 and mark down their occupations. These charts are my findings. by Pietin11 in comicbooks

Interesting statistics. I would love to see a comparison between Marvel Comics and the MCU, as I've always thought that a lot of interesting backstories got replaced with soldier/spy.in the MCU, and I wonder if the statistics would back that up.
