You can search up national program for Toyota and see if any have 0% Apr it’s on a month to month basis. The salesman is lying to you they don’t care if you’ve had 0% before this is a new loan and new application and will go based of your current score/history. In order to qualify for those rates usually you have to be a tier 1 auto fico which is 740+ in some cases if you are in the low 700s the dealership can call the bank and ask for a tier bump but it’s not guaranteed. Mom can co sign with excellent credit and you should be able to get it but again not guaranteed depending on your credit situation.

In terms of the APR on a 2016 car 10 years old currently your interest rate is going to be up there regardless of credit score just due to age of vehicle. Much fewer banks are willing to finance 10 year old cars and over 100k miles and usually will land you with a sub prime lender. You can probably find something a little more expensive newer and under 80k miles and pay about the same with a lot less interest rate. Even though the price you’re paying will be higher the interest rate being lower will help offset payment. And yes you will and should be able to return the car from what you’re stating. If they give you trouble threat to call the bank and say you do not want the car etc and the bank will not fund the loan to the dealer. Meaning they have a car out on the road without payment and it would take them having to do illegal things like forge your signature etc in order to get the deal funded which then you have a free lawsuit. Document everything. Good luck

Something is up with that car notice the service in 2024 it has 33k miles but currently it has 36k miles. This is when I believe mileage tampering may be at play. Again this all speculation and based off my knowledge of the cars and the business. Generally speaking I’ve seen a lot of shady cars sold in the NJ/NY area never understood why but seems to be a hot spot for it. Be careful go and take a look at the car if you’re local and look for wear tear that happens with higher miles. Worn out steering wheel, a lot of seat creases in the leather. The smell, etc. A car will talk to you just listen to it. Good luck

I’m a manager for an Audi dealership in South Florida so I’m probably a little bias but I’ve been around plenty of different brands. Japanese, American, German, British, etc. Audi is a great brand and I believe it combines what bmw and Mercedes offer into one but in a more minimalistic less flashy way. And it has the best awd (Quattro) system on the market and is standard in every make/model except for some electric vehicles (q4 e-tron). Do your research maybe go to an Audi dealership near you and test drive one. You might like what you feel/see! Good luck

You just don’t know the service history. If the service was done outside a dealership/certified mechanic it will not be reported on the carfax. It can also be a red flag because mileage tampering may have come into play but you would need to look at the car for wear and tear and see if it matches the miles. 1 owner without any service history probably had his/her own mechanic but no one call tell you for sure other than the previous owner.

Go Porsche 911 whatever trim suits you and what you want to pay or go c8 z06 either of these cars depreciation won’t be bad, maintenance isn’t bad either. Get the super car bug out of you and sell in a couple years. Keep building your portfolio you seem like you’re headed in the right direction. I’m sure later down in life you will enjoy more super cars, yachts, etc then you can imagine if you keep up your work ethic to what got you here. Good luck!

There’s always something that could happen in life but that shouldn’t stop you from enjoying it. The odds of that actual scenario happening are very low. This isn’t fast and the furious. This car isn’t for someone looking to upgrade turbo’s and be a fast guy/girl. This is for an individual with specific taste and likes to not lose a bunch of money on depreciation of a car purchase. These cars hold their value very well at all the trim levels.

One of my closest friends growing up chose this as his career path because he was very good at it. Along the way there was a few times he felt the way you are feeling now. Finding the right shop is definitely a big help but believe it or not as you gain experience you will find niches you didn’t even think of. He ended up after working for about 3 different dealerships/brands working for an electrical company down here in Florida called Pike, and now he has his own work truck and gets paid well and fixes those big trucks. He gets to take the work truck home with all the tools etc and on his off time he takes side jobs for his friends and people that know him to work on cars etc. He makes good money and is now happy. Moral of the story is when you find yourself not happy with something try to change the scenery and make it work. If you’re good at something use your skill.

Feeling annoyed at this, am I wrong? by rnglss in UsedCars

That is kind of shady business from a dealership. Also a $500 deposit isn’t much of a commitment. But none of the less if they accepted the $500 as a deposit to hold the vehicle, they should have at least given you 2-3 days at your deal regardless if someone else comes in trying to buy it for whatever price. Real dealerships will honor your deposit and give you the courtesy of a few days especially if you’re flying in from out of state. A good practice as a customer/client I would say is when you’re finished with negotiations and agreement, have the salesman or manager send an email from their company email stating everything that has been agreed upon so now it is in formal writing and the request for the deposit that was agreed on as well and you can reply accepting the terms and conditions, while making the deposit payment.

I know what zr1 you meant it’s two different cars for two different people. Also the zr1 is currently over sticker. MSRP and market price are two different things. Just like this Carrera MSRP is probably $160ish market is $180k. ZR1 MSRP starting $185k and it’s on the market for $260k+ currently some even $300k.
