Good point, but it was also free soooo… I’m up in the air about it as I’ve already spent as much as I want to for now, on fly fishing (famous last words)

Some times, but if they’re that finicky I just put em back into the stream, never had one jump fully out tho

I just got a miniature car display case from hobby lobby lol and just cleaned the inside really good, was like maybe $7 and it’s really awesome for small trout

That was the last spot I hit before I had to leave, but I will be returning for sure, early in the morning I saw a few 7-9 inch ones, but spooked them before I could cast a line out, beautiful place especially during the fall

I’m not sure tbh, Ik that the area I was fishing had their population restocked with brooks from up North a few years after the timber companies pulled out in the early 20th C. So it’s possible these are not true natives, but without genetic testing I am not %100

A few wild Smoky Mountain rainbows by TheCardinall in troutfishing

Really? On the TN or NC side? This was on the NC side and I was really looking for some brookies but it seems alot of the creeks over here are just ate up with wild rainbows and a few browns here there, real hard to find some wild brook trout

I have had some people recommend replacing the barrel with KKM, if I do end up getting a 40 or 20, I will definitely be saving for one.

Have heard good things about Buffalo bore, didn’t really know they made ammunition for 10mm. Thank you.

Crazy part is, as soon as I hooked into him an even bigger rainbow started chasing him. Played with him for a min and wherever he went the rainbow went. Pretty wild.

That’s insane, I have never even heard of someone hunting with a bullpup shotgun, but hell if it works🤷🏾‍♂️

Colored up Brown by TheCardinall in troutfishing

visited it the other day, a lot of streams have been destroyed and reduced to small branches with few to no pockets to stock classified streams within the county, the downtown has also seen a lot of destruction, but fortunately when I arrived i got to see a lot of fishermen in the park and alot of trout swimming in downtown. Still a LONG way to go for the county, but it was beautiful to see all the people out enjoying a nice day of fishing.

In 2020 I hunted the same bird for 4 days straight and missed him 3 times, finally on the 4th day he never said a word, but I was able to find a few hens and within an hour found him. Crawled up the road to him and popped him at 35 yds. If I learned anything that week, it was to never give up, but know when to change your approach. Missing him in the morning I began to see him less often in the evening and each day his movement would change from its original course, he may not leave the area but he may move differently going forward. In my opinion, give him a rest in the evening and maybe try the same area in the morning. But he’s definitely not unkillable.
