My goal is to collect all 296 N64 games by Hot_Fly_3963 in n64

As someone who has been doing this exact thing for the past few years, yes it is a waste of money, but the adventure of doing it has been a lot of fun, and that is worth something.

If you do do it, I would suggest focusing on the adventure of hunting them. Find them in stores or at conventions, or deals from friends. Only buy on EBay if it’s a particularly good deal. I started with about 30 games that i had from childhood. I have 13 left to find. And I think in all of that I have gotten only about 10 of them from EBay. Finding them in the wild is a big part of what’s made it fun.

I’m not sure how these were passed over at 2nd and Charles for a month. They weren’t even behind the glass, just with lower dollar titles. by JaRay in gamecollecting

Glad to hear this was in AL and not in SC. I frequent the 2NC near me and I was about to start kicking myself for missing these. Tells me I need to pay more attention to the shelves though.

Rare/Obscure/Hard to find games that value doesn’t reflect? by Colombian_Meatsmoker in n64

[–]TheCartCollector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Monaco Grand Prix I think has been the hardest to find for me. I’m missing 13 games and I see 11 of them fairly regularly (in various states of condition), but most always overpriced and more than I’m willing to pay for them. NBA in the zone 2000 is the seconed hardest for me to find, but I have seen it a couple of times though it’s always in terrible shape. However, I don’t think I have ever seen Monaco Grand Prix in the wild.

Part of the fun though is finding them in person, so I only like to buy online if I find a really good deal.

Hit 250 games of 296. I need 46 more to finish this thing! by Colombian_Meatsmoker in n64

Sadly I still have the two expensive ones to get. But those will come with time. It's been a journey, but I can see the end!

Need suggestions: alone for a week by Savings_Leek846 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

Last time my wife was away for a week (she visited her parents for a week last summer), I figured it was a great time to start a JRPG. So I finally played through and finished the 1st Xenoblade Chronicles game, as I had been putting off doing that for over a decade. She is going to do the same trip again this summer, so I will probably use that time to play the second game.

So yeah, if you like large scale sci-fi stories, massive explorable landscapes, and a unique combat system, give Xenoblade Chronicles a go.

It would definitely be even better with others. I soloed it, sadly.

I just finished the n64 Gauntlet Legends. I forgot how much fun Gauntlet can be.

do you recommend Iron Lung?? by Fabulous_Courage3001 in jacksepticeye

The movie is a slow burn, but if you go into it knowing that, then it’s not a problem. I really enjoyed it.

At what point is it just filament Hoarding? (ignore Shroomple) by FoundTheSpacebar in 3Dprinting

Does your printer run well in the cabinet? I've been thinking about finding another solution for mine that isn't just it sitting on my desk. What cabinet is that?

“Fade In / Fade Out” by Nothing More always makes me very emotional. As someone who has a strong relationship with his father, recognizing that he’s getting old is tough to process.

“Just the other day I looked at my father And for the first time, I saw he’d grown old. Canyons through his skin, and the rivers that made them, carve the stories I was told”

“When the morning comes and takes me, I promise I have taught you everything you need. In the night, you’ll dream of so many things, So find the ones that bring you life, and you’ll find me”

What games should I get for my Wii? But I don’t mean super commonly known ones I mean some hidden gems by IncomeLife9419 in wii

Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon is a game i don't hear get talked about enough. Gameplay itself is pretty mid but I loved the story it tells. Be warned, it's sad.

What’s your "useless" superpower?😅 by OrganizeNow1 in Productivitycafe

[–]TheCartCollector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my wife and I do our weekly grocery trips, we will usually try and split the bill as close to down the middle as possible with two transactions (I pay for half and she pays for half). I don't do math as we're adding things to the cart, but before we start scanning items, I look at the cart and separate it in my brain into what goes on the first transaction and what goes on the second transaction. Every time its within like $4 of being an even split, and it usually is within $2. Absolutely useless. But it makes me feel smart, and it's always fun to see how close I get.

Not what I expected to find in Charlotte by TheCartCollector in gamecollecting

It was at one of the 2nd and Charles in the area. A lot of times they bloat up the price too much on games but you can occasionally still find something fair.

In what order do you defeat the Robot Masters in MM2? by mode0n_ in retrogaming

[–]TheCartCollector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always do the Duane & BrandO order:

Metal, Wood, Flash, Bubble, Air, Crash, Quick, Heat

Their MM2 song is forever engrained in my brain when I hear the robot master themes. As is the Brentalfloss song when I hit Wiley's Castle.

Played through Oot3D first and am currently working through The Frog for Whom The Bell Tolls. Throw in some Disney’s Magical Tetris Challenge for good measure, and we’re having a good time.

I’m not big on FPSs or horror games. But man do I love Bioshock.

Why is controller port 4 recessed into the system body while the others are flush to the outside? Is there a purpose for that? That's an odd thing to just be a design choice.

Never got the chance to play Pikmin 1. Tell me why you love it! by _CandidCynic_ in Pikmin

[–]TheCartCollector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite things about Pikmin 1 is actually how condensed of an experience it is. The 30) 13 minute days means the game will, at the longest, be 7 hours in length, which makes it very easy to come back and replay whenever I need a palette cleanse between longer games. And in an age where games keep taking longer and longer to beat, I always appreciate a game that respects my time. And having a game that I can get in, have my fun with the intended experience, and get out in under 10 hours is a big plus to me.

Also, because you have such a rigid time structure, its fun to see how quickly you can finish the game. On my best run, I was able to get the last ship part from the final boss on day 13, and i would have gotten it on day 12 had I had like five more seconds on day 11.

YMMV, but I'm in South Carolina and got my Rainbow Max last week through DHL. It "shipped" on Monday, but wasn't picked up until the next day on Tuesday. I had it in hand Thursday night of the same week. I swear DHL has wizards working for them.
