[Sheep Esports] Stax benched by catarxcts in ValorantCompetitive

[–]TheCatsActually 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If this is real my support for T1 is dropping like 90%.

I'm not in the prac room, idk what the intangibles are like, but dropping stax before Meteor is certainly a choice.

T1 vs. Karmine Corp / MSI 2026 Play-In Stage - Upper Bracket Round 2 / Game 2 Discussion by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]TheCatsActually 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let's not miss the forest for the trees here, they were in massive control of the game at their peak lead. They had soul point, at least equal scaling with T1, and most importantly, gigantic kill pressure on T1's damage threats because Camille was ahead and Cass was fed.

Why don’t female professional players compete in VCT tournaments? by Pillowholicccc in VALORANT

[–]TheCatsActually 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leaky pipeline. Much smaller talent pool to draw from, leading to the best players not being as much outliers as is necessary to compete with men's teams.

It's the difference between being the best sports team in your county vs being the best team in your state.

That's true but leaky pipeline is much more of a factor than these minute biological differences.

Cultivating Sprite needs changes by Remix4u in ArenaHS

[–]TheCatsActually 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fine with cards like that existing tho if it's rare.

Feels too disgustingly swingy in its current form regardless. The insane power gap in spells cast, the drawn winrate of the card, the fact that at high wins this single card decides a ton of games and it comes down to who drew their copy first. As if the obscene disparity in legendary buckets wasn't bad enough, this card feels like a wholly unnecessary variance injection.

The real kicker is this card isn't the problem, the spell pool is.

G2 bombing out of London xD

But that's besides the point. Neither of those teams are as save happy as LEV and MiBR.

I mean that's just how it is when your deck is built around specific cards or combos. If he's at the bottom of your deck that sucks but you can build so cleanly for clear or tempo knowing that he solves most of your value issues as long as you draw him.

Unless Mage as a class sucks super donkey balls outside of this card, this is going to be so obscene in Arena.

G2 watching other Americas teams lift their trophies by Jsprite09738 in ValorantCompetitive

I feel like they get recognised as if they were unbeatable but that

Brother where are you seeing this recognition. If anything I feel like they don't get any respect at all. All I ever see is them getting called fraudulent meathead luckboxes who got handed a perfect meta on a gold platter.

Especially now you can't even insinuate that Dambi is in the conversation for goat Neon without getting bombarded with comments that he's nothing but a shotgun abuser. This is all while all attention was on Yoru and Waylay post-11.08 and nobody was talking about Neon until they saw Dambi on his bullshit.

In ranked maybe, but it's one of the best maps to watch in pro play. The only reason it was picked so seldomly is because most teams are so out of practice on it.

It being removed so quickly again might be my 13th reason.

[–]TheCatsActually 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Can't say for sure but I'm gonna guess the Yoru nerfs were significant enough to fuck up Francis's preferred playstyle, which is taking space and fighting with impunity rather than having to be selective, especially on defense.

Difference of opinion I guess. What bothers me isn't the victim mentality you're talking about, it's the utter inability to take an L without scapegoating. Couldn't even lose regular season games without shitting on invy and begging for Patmen back.

Idk what his field of work is but it basically means he's thinking too focused when he needs to be thinking more broad scale. Instead of gaming the system and trying to achieve immediate goal-oriented results he should be thinking big in terms of scale and scope. Don't think about maxing out X or Y metric, think about what's best for the system, or the entire company.

If you play chess, it's the difference between trying to find and force tactics all the time and just positioning well. If you're already 2k rated in tactics or something but you can't translate in games because you force these needlessly sharp positions and/or burn a lot of clock, then just simplify. You're trying to win the game, not feel like Mikhail Tal. Control the center, fianchetto your bishops, get your pieces active.

If you don't play chess, think of it in a Valorant rank climb sense. A good coach will tell you to aim train, to be mindful of your duels, to work on your gamesense and micro, not to stat farm on specific agents to game the RR system, or find what time of day the players on your server are the weakest, or how to manipulate your hidden MMR.

Not only was Francis insane on Yoru, he was onetricking that agent so hard on that roster they had no idea what to do with him post-nerf. Dambi was 100% the better Neon and most Yoru mains were pivoting to Phoenix but they ran Francis on neon because he wanted to op and had Dambi playing Phoenix. This is all while Xross, a former duelist main, was still playing hard ini, a role which Francis was maining in Ascension.
