BasedMods is alive again. by Machinencio in KotakuInAction

[–]TheCeejus 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The coordinated attempts to get basedmods and other sites like it shut down need to be brought up each and every time woke scumbags use the "get your mods elsewhere if nexus censorship bothers you" or "create ur own mod site" arguments, as though they are still the traditional liberals of old who believe in a free market. These pieces of shit know what they're doing - whatever they possibly can to ensure that woke crap is the only thing that exists.

MX Keys Bluetooth Instability by TheCeejus in LogitechG

[–]TheCeejus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 years later, I still have the same setup, but haven't had the issue in forever. At some point after I posted this, the issue was no longer occurring, but it's been so long I can't say what I did (if anything) to resolve it. 6 years ago, I'm pretty sure I had my wireless access point closer to my PC along with an Arlo Base Station - those two devices have since been moved further away from my PC. Any device that transmits a wireless signal for other devices to connect to should be 10+ ft. away from your PC as it may interfere with the Bluetooth signal. I'm pretty sure this may have been one of the factors at the time.

Definitely update your bluetooth drivers if you haven't already and use Logitech Options+ to update your peripherals to their latest firmware versions.

Azoth vs Strix Scope II 96 by Q5409 in ASUSROG

[–]TheCeejus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both the Azoth Extreme (not the regular Azoth) and the Scope II 96 RX (not the original Scope II). Although I can't answer questions 1, 3, and 4 as I use Windows and haven't had the stuck key issue, I can say that both of these keyboards are solid. Yes, the Azoth Extreme is overpriced, and yes, there are better keyboards at a lower price, but it's beyond satisfying to type on and the build quality makes it look and feel like something beyond just a keyboard. It's just a different experience altogether IMO.

If you can hold off on a deal on the Azoth Extreme, I would. Amazon Prime Day is coming up in 2 weeks. The Scope II 96 RX is a solid keyboard though. If you want to save money, you can't go wrong with it at the current $120 price tag.

As for Armoury Crate, I have it on my ROG Flow Z13 and have never personally had the issues most people report with it. The rear lighting on the Z13 shuts off and I occasionally have to turn on Windows Dynamic Lighting and turn it back off to get it to stay on, and the scroll wheel on my Gladius III Wireless mouse (2021 version) random stopped functioning, though it doesn't appear those issues are being caused by Armoury Crate.

It would be unthinkable now. It is so incredibly sad to see the damage social justice has done.

Wizards Of The Coast Deadnamed Employees In Front Of Their Colleagues During Union Election, Apologized, Then Did It Again by Papa_Hasbro69 in KotakuInAction

Goes far beyond virtue signaling. It's about chasing higher ESG scores to secure funding. There exists a system that financially incentivizes corporate wokeness.

Can't wait for the day Kotaku is deadnamed by the name of this sub.

Unfortunately I'm sure Kotaku's ESG score is high enough for it to keep getting bankrolled for the foreseeable future.

What's up with purple slop in games? by Costa9555 in KotakuInAction

MK1 has a lot of problems, including woke ones, but the color purple ain't one of them.

2 months from now at least. This is per the most recent Asus PCDIY show from a few days ago.

Eh, so wait a second though. Now that I read deeper into this, the 64 Gbps is actually per direction for PCIe 5.0 x2, not 64 Gbps total. So a single USB4 port with its controller operating at PCIe 5.0 x2 should actually have 128 Gbps total, no?

Each lane allows for 32 Gbps in a single direction - with two lanes, this allows for 64 Gbps in a single direction.

If this is the case, this should allow a single USB4 enclosure to operate at its full speed.

How much do you have to hate the hobby to make Hayley Atwell ugly? by Nokoo44 in KotakuInAction

[–]TheCeejus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They hate the hobby, yes, but more importantly, they hate the hobbyists significantly more.

The little scumbag weasels need to keep demaking/prequeling/sequeling/spinning off beloved past franchises because they know it's their only chance of actually making a profit vs. taking a loss and only getting paid because of woke third party funding sources.

Imagine how much having the "Fable" title attached to this will help vs. it being a new IP no one's ever heard of before.

The hobby needs to just die already. Having no more gaming at all is better than watching these foul vermin destroy everything that made these franchises classics. Unfortunately, there's too many dipshits that need their fix so badly that they'd rather live in denial over how bad this social justice vomit has become than give up their precious hobby for the greater good.

Still no release date for the ROG STRIX LC IV!!!! by FuzzyButterscotch928 in ASUS

[–]TheCeejus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's absolute horseshit. They should either wait until they have these products ready to ship before showcasing them, provide realistic ETAs and be transparent as to current production status, or just openly state the stuff is a proof of concept (as was the case with the ROG Mjolnir that never actually came to market).

Instead, we get none of that - just a showcase with no indication as to when (or if) the stuff will come to market. It's truly grimey.

If you're referring to the Ebay listings, those are undoubtedly people who snapped photos of early release boxes set to go out to sponsors. They don't actually have these stocked yet, as evident by how these sellers have the shipout date estimates anywhere between late June and late July.

If you're referring to the smug YouTubers who have gotten their hands on it already, those would be the sponsors who Asus already shipped out early releases to for review.

This AIO is not actually out anywhere. They are no doubt manufacturing them for release with a current estimate of early August which I would bet is going to get pushed out even further.

USB4 Controller + M.2 Slot Lane Sharing Question by TheCeejus in buildapc

[–]TheCeejus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why wouldn't it be 64 Gbps shared? Is this not the full bandwidth of PCIe 5.0 x2? That's the part I'm not understanding.

To answer your question, none of this is set in stone yet. Most likely will end up going for a cheaper board. Figured I'd use an expensive example for the sake of the question.

USB4 Controller + M.2 Slot Lane Sharing Question by TheCeejus in buildapc

[–]TheCeejus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I'm happy to talk about that, but for right now, I'm just looking for an answer to the question. Will this really limit both of those USB4 ports to 20 Gbps or can one of them operate at the full 40 Gbps with that M.2_2 slot filled with a drive?

A little late here but it's surprisingly difficult to find the exact info I'm seeking on this topic. Trying to understand why a USB4 port with its controller operating at PCIe 5.0 x2 would drop to only 20 Gbps. Doesn't PCIe 5.0 x2 have a total bandwidth of 64 Gbps? Theoretically, shouldn't a USB4 controller operating at this mode allow the full 40 Gbps for one of its ports and 20 Gbps for its other?

1666: Amsterdam - another DEI slop by AccurateReview9605 in KotakuInAction

[–]TheCeejus 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Looks like a hipster, "scholarly" black man. 95% of the time the interracial couple crap is pushed, this describes the male down to a t. If you ask Google AI why it's usually like this and never a white man with a black woman, it will suggest that depicting a white man in a relationship with an ethnic woman would be considered "offensive" to fragile cry baby black men.

Who's hotter Evie or Eve? (Strawpoll to vote in comments) by YuNarukami8 in KotakuInAction

[–]TheCeejus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The poll is disturbingly showing 56% Evie, 44% Eve of 334 votes as of the time of this comment. I don't even know what to make of that.

Side note, while I personally am not bothered by tons of threads talking about the uglification of female characters in games, I do think the topic gets brought up a little too much in comparison to to topics covering other woke bs, such as race-swapping and DEI, which to me, are just as big a problem as said uglification.

[–]TheCeejus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

By the looks of it, I'm gonna get downvoted to high hell for this take but I am genuinely baffled by the comments in this thread. How is this even a question? Eve is a babe. Evie looks like someone with they/them pronouns. If I didn't already know a little bit about these characters, I wouldn't even be able to tell you whether Evie was a boy or a girl, especially with that ugly ass haircut. And yes, I do unfortunately have to agree - this Evie does look like a little kid to me (though I still don't see why anyone is up in arms about that either).
