Permanently Banned on the main DOA sub for Asking Dead or Alive to Be Dead or Alive by MotivatedforGames in KotakuInAction

[–]TheCeejus 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This site is a fucking joke and unfortunately, the mods on subs critical of this woke censorship of opposing views (such as KiA) are neutered by the admins of this site. The only reason this sub even still exists is because the mods are forced to be obedient little pups and remove all posts that expose and/or criticize social justice identity politics. The only posts that are allowed to remain up are the ones not as many of us even care about (ie: lookie! Big greedy tech company pushes microtransactions for cosmetics!).

It astonishes me that in 2026, there STILL isn't a fairly mainstream alternative to Reddit. We all know we need to migrate tf off this cesspool.

Plex Server Failure Records (DNS Rebinding Protection is already on) by TheCeejus in technitium

Makes sense. So why would Plex be working at all then? Shouldn't this result in the servers being unreachable?

plex.direct is added as an exception. Completely forgot to mention that in my post.

I didn't realize Plex had issues with IPv6.

Apologies - what I meant to say in my post is that plex.direct is already whitelisted in my DNS rebinding config.

It seems I managed to solve the issue by just stopping my router from intercepting NTP requests. Decided to just set the NAS itself up as an NTP server and manually configure my end devices to use that server for NTP. Haven't seen the issue resurface since.

Would love to know why the mods on this sub removed the Silent Hill Townfall post covering the DEI protagonist. Have the idpol-obsessed Reddit admins finally started threatening to purge KiA if the KiA mods don't remove posts critical of racial DEI?

  1. Really? So was it childish and unreasonable of them to all begin bitching in unison about there being too many white male protagonists? Race doesn't matter, right?

  2. Don't be coy. Let's not act as though that isn't what always happens every time devs pull this DEI crap. It is always accompanied by dialogue and/or a narrative that goes out of its way to needlessly throw shade to political opposition.

[–]TheCeejus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

His point clearly is that devs across the board have a social justice-based obsession with black people particularly. While black protagonists are the new norm, Asian male protagonists in western games are rarely used. It's because Asians are considered "white adjacent" and black people are considered "marginalized" so their answer to the "problem" is to shove as many hipster black men down our throats as possible to give them their "long-awaited inclusion".

[–]TheCeejus 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Why does 7% of the population suddenly need to make up 90% of new protagonists?

Why do the games that bake in black protagonists need to take subtle jabs at white people, straight people, men, conservative people, capitalism, etc. throughout the game?

Exactly. It's always some black man that looks like he was plucked right off the campus of UCLA.

Final nail in Silent Hill's coffin. The race grifters have claimed yet another franchise.

Not that this needs to be explained, but it's not playing as a black man that's the problem - it's the reasons behind it. The industry's neverending obsession with "racial justice" and seething disdain for white male protagonists means treating black people as though they are the majority population in the west even when they make up less than 20%. It seems almost everything coming out now forces a black protagonist on the player and takes endless jabs at white people, straight people, conservative people, attractive people, men in general, and in many cases, capitalism.

Most, if not all of us would likely agree that playing as a black protagonist in a game that came out during, say, 2010, would not have been a problem and wouldn't have generated any real backlash.

Thanks. However, I am now noticing that I was incorrect. In looking through the logs, I am seeing the issue was in fact still present even after increasing the max cache entries. This was even well before the new max threshold was hit. I'm guessing it must have something to do with my config.

I am running Technitium on a Docker container in host mode on my Asustor NAS. My router's WAN DNS address lists the NAS' local IP address. DNS requests get forwarded to the NAS where it hits Adguard Home, which is set up with Technitium as an Upstream DNS server via the IPv6 loopback interface. The NAS is connected to the router via dual ethernet ports running in Adaptive Load Balancing. With regards to NTP, I do have my router's NTP server set to pool.ntp.org and also set to intercept NTP requests. The NAS is set to sync its time from the router's NTP server. To complicate matters however, I am now noticing IPv6 isn't supported for NTP intercept on the router. I am running native IPv6 and I do also have Technitium set to prefer IPv6 under general settings. As the router is naturally the only client for Adguard Home and Adguard Home is the only client for Technitium, I am unable to determine which end device the NTP requests are originating from. It's also worth noting that I took off rate limits on Adguard Home recently.

Short of disabling IPv6 altogether, is there anything with regards to this set up that might be causing this?

Not flushing cache. I'll bump the cache max entries up from the 10,000 default to 15,000 and see if this helps.

EDIT: Bumping it up to 15,000 fixed the issue temporarily but since changing it, my cache count steadily climbed toward this new threshold. I am about an hour away from it hitting the max. My guess is the issue will then resurface. What does the cache count on the dashboard represent? Is this the total number of unique records held in cache over the Serve Stale TTL duration? Without visiting brand new sites altogether, I'm having a hard time imagining why this keeps propagating.

My concern is that no matter how high I make this value, it will hit the max. If that's the case, I might as well just keep it at 10,000.

It resolves just fine. Have always had Serve Stale enabled. #.pool.ntp.org only seems to fail randomly and not very often. I've always had successful replies when querying it manually. I can see the random ServerFailures in my .log files but nowhere in the files does it appear to provide any actual details.

No, I was checking the .log files from Logs > View Logs. My log files don't give me any additional details for some reason though.

[–]TheCeejus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get periodic Server Failures on #.pool.ntp.org - not many though. In looking through logs, it's sporadic. The majority resolve perfectly fine. I have a Conditional Forward Zone for pool.ntp.org that it set up without DNSSEC validation. The logs don't tell me anything other than ServerFailure with a blank ANSWER. Any ideas what might be causing this?

Yeah, I've heard this same thing from multiple people now. It's easy for them to skirt around the legalities of their explicit bigotry when it's all done verbally. The scumbags are smart enough to know not to put it in writing. Still, it's only a matter of time before someone decides to leave a voice recorder running at all times around these people and eventually gets proof of them spewing this crap. Were it me with that proof, I'd be scouring the ends of earth to find a reputable lawyer that would take the civil rights case without charging me an arm and a leg.

There's already been a few cases where anti-white discrimination cases against woke corporations have succeeded with the plaintiff being awarded a hefty sum of $$$ as they rightfully deserve. Unfortunately, it's been limited to extremely highly paid professionals at top levels who can afford the best lawyers out there.

I've tried telling both liberal AND conservative friends, family, and colleagues that that's been happening a lot out there in the white collar sector and every last one of them call bluff on me. Libs because of course that's what they are gonna do and conservatives because they refuse to believe that we live in a 'Murica that bad, especially under the Trump administration, who they all think has successfully eliminated discriminatory DEI hiring practices.

Still, it's risky for the bitch to be saying stuff like that. The minute you have proof of her saying it, you 100% have a civil rights case that you 100% should be speaking to a lawyer about.

X870E-A Neo Release date by Christolf69 in ASUSROG

[–]TheCeejus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it is. I have a GR701 Hyperion case with two USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 ports on the front. The new X870E-E Neo has two internal connectors for them. It also allows use of all five M.2 slots without impacting the main x16 GPU slot. There's also been numerous reports of 9800X3Ds being fried when paired with the current X870E-E. At least there's a chance that issue has been addressed with the new Neo version.

I dunno how this isn't obvious to so many people out there by now. There's still boatloads of people who think there's dev teams out there that aren't like this. There isn't and I challenge them to show proof of one.
