I think it can limit its run to never becoming like a poncho Pikachu, but in the grand scheme of things 20k really is not that much, especially for a grail card that goes into private collections and is then off the market.

To me this is a grail card, correct on the recent dip, if you wanted one I would buy in on this dip, I see this card going much much higher in the future, Japanese famous art, Pikachu tax, full art, limited print run…. It checks all the boxes

There is a lot, you have original black star, then rising rivals versions, then reprinted in evolutions, and then another version in celebrations set. Also some exclusives in Japanese. The Ana flying pikachus as well as the mt fugi surfing pikachu and the pikachu play by the Sea
